Thinking back to when that cat got unfired cause the internet said so… 😅
Thanks to x4740N@lemmy.world for these source links: https://abcnews.go.com/amp/Lifestyle/beloved-cat-job-local-library-international-backlash/story?id=40351635

Lol, Browser the cat did not just only win the right to stay but even out lived the guy trying to get Browser removed from the library. The council man passed away in 2022 and Browser is still happy and alive in 2023 (according to Reddit at least). Staying alive out of spite, that is definitely a cat.
Did you just say it’s name is bowser?
Nintendo’s litigation department begins vibrating intensely
I remember this but never knew the extent of it.
The CBS article says it originally happened because some person wasn’t allowed to bring their dog to work at city hall.
This sounds like a 6 year old crying and saying “if I can’t have this, then THEY CANT HAVE THAT!!”
Grow up.
I mean, hypocrisy is something worth pushing back against, but only a jerk of a fool chooses to create more injustice as a response.
I mean if cats are allowed they should allow dogs as well. I am also highly allergic to cats and break out in hives and a rash if I am around them to much. Got no problem with both
Right, I think you misunderstood. A person wasn’t able to take their dog with them to work at City Hall. In retaliation they wanted the cat gone from the Library.
Two different buildings.

Councilman Clements eventually ran out of his nine lives after he was defeated in a landslide in November’s election.
Yeah, man. The Internet loves cats.
Thanks for that. Realized just now I should maybe add the source, but you have provided the favor.
Mind if I copy your url-findings to the post?

Browser also has their own wiki page
And now we can snicker because the guy who wanted Browser gone was named Elzie.
Excuse me? WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas?
Of course it’s fucking Texas 🤦🏻♀️
It’s just a short jaunt from Klanhaven.
I remember pre-covid news having the same problem of focusing on negative things, but wholesome news is always welcome : )
You may not have reached the “In my day…”-age yet… 😅
I miss pre-Brexit Internet.
… And newspapers, talk radio, and news. Seems like they just try and force feed the hate these days.
Browser!
