It looks beautiful. Love foggy mornings.

I went snorkeling in Hawaii last week and got to see the cool fish and turtles! So that was fun.
They absolutely do! Some animals mate for life. Some mourn when one of their own dies (see whales, elephants). Parrots who are lonely may self-mutilate. Dogs can remember you and get so excited to see you, even after being separated for years. Interspecies friendships exist. It’s like… I don’t see how people can still think animals DON’T have emotions.
They just don’t make faces like humans do. Although interestingly, dogs developed eyebrow muscles that give them more human-like expressions, which therefore strengthens our bond with them.
Wow good on Thailand! I’m shocked not sooner considering all the lady-boy stuff going on lol. Think they’d be down for that kinda stuff.
4.5 min video of the exchange. Very satisfying watch!
Asshole cop vs asshole citizen is what the video showed. I’m far from a cop lover but I can see how it feels on the other side of a rolled up window where you can’t see what’s going on and the person inside’s being non-compliant. Don’t fuck around and talk shit while rolling up your tinted window when a cop pulls you over. People in this country are strapped up. Especially in a concealed carry state like Florida that is full of insane people. Cops are on edge for a reason when they’re doing a traffic stop. If I did what Tyreek Hill did, I’d fully expect to be asked to step out or pulled out of my car
Excessive use of force by the cop who clearly wanted to escalate. Tyreek Hill also wasn’t being smart in the way that was handled. We already know how paranoid and trigger happy law enforcement can be. People like to act tough on the internet, but I wouldn’t DARE roll up tinted windows during a police stop knowing how shit could escalate. I’m trying to have them see my hands at all times. That’s exactly the kind of shit that can happen when you’re just trying to get home safe. Whatever it is, it’s not worth it.
Watching Hellraiser 2 was pretty bad. I didn’t understand what was going on, but forever remembered the scary woman with no skin!
Joined! I still visit the subreddits, but it’d be nice to get some NFL traction on Lemmy. :)
Woah. There’s just something vaguely humanlike about the disc-shaped faces that owls have lol.
Mine’s a bit dark. Dad’s family is from China. They had 7 boys including him. It’s a “mystery” what happened to the girl(s) but not really… It’s not spoken about and I don’t think anyone has the balls to ask anyway.
I haven’t played Rise, but the Monster Hunter series is pretty grindy in general

Not sure what other NSFW instances off the top of my head. I think lemmit.online mirrors different subreddits, so maybe some NSFW options there
Damn. Glad there wasn’t any vision loss. Yeah I had shingles before too and got treated pretty quick, but it was definitely freaky reading how it could spread to your eyes and cause permanent damage.
Oh geez, I’d be in Silent Hill 1’s Midwich Elementary School. I’m gonna have to fight the kids and roaches and the lizard boss to get out.
Oh no, shingles in your eye?? How was that?

I see them more often in the SF bay area. They look clunky and ridiculous, plus they draw so much attention (when you should probably being trying to avoid attention).
That’s crazy. I went on a tour on this same glacier just a month ago. Wondering if I was at the same ice cave because it was very accessible, had two entrances like described, the drive and hike times are about the same. So very unnerving!
When we were there, our guide even said to be very careful, to not talk loudly, and especially not to linger at the entrance. Because of his experience and also being trained in glacier search and rescue, we felt in good hands.
We were only a total of 3 people. You know nature can be unpredictable, but I can’t imagine 23 people in a fast melting ice cave was ever a good idea. Iceland is most likely going to have to change the law and ban ice cave tours in the summer.
So I’ve had allergies all my life. Waking up stuffy or sniffling is super common, I don’t even keep track of it. When it’s bad, if I tilt my head back, I’m literally drinking mucus lol (gross). I joke about being allergic to the outdoors, spring time’s bad, and there’s particularly something about the desert that makes my allergies act up. Some of the shrubs out there, sagebrush maybe. And I can get it basically everywhere, even while traveling to other countries, so it seems like I’m allergic to multiple things. My allergy symptoms are pretty much sneezing and sniffling, nothing to do with the throat.
I’ve taken OTC antihistamine meds before. They don’t completely dry me out but it helps a little. They’re not a magical cure, so I actually don’t bother most of the time unless it’s bad and I have something important going on.
I don’t think you’re being a big baby, because it sounds like you just developed this issue? I just deal with it because it’s normal, it’s been going on my whole life, kinda like wearing glasses lol.
