Damn. I wish I could take time off just to clean my house. It needs it.
My receiver for my tv setup is a 1970s Pioneer. I like the big ol knobs on it and the warm lighting.
Edit to add I also love my Pebble smart watches (Go Rebble for keeping them running!)

Good answer. This seemed relevant enough to share, it’s certainly interesting. https://newatlas.com/biology/life-merger-evolution-symbiosis-organelle/
Good to hear they’ve had some success in the US, but I do worry about the quality of their consumer products. Too many companies can’t translate success in onr section of a market into another section.
I really want a small EV.
Right? Like what if as cells die or degrade instead of being replaced by the body naturally they are replaced by nanites/cybernetics/tech magic. If the process of fully converting took place over the course of 10 years, then I don’t see how the subject would even notice.
It’s an interesting thing to ponder.
Yeah, experiencing that is a horror I wouldn’t wish on anyone. That’s a true nightmare.
I don’t think having kids of my own is in my future, I hope I can live my life with enough intent and purpose to avoid this date. Thank you both for this thread, it’s gotten me thinking.
I’m entertained, I need a book in this universe.
Odd thing to be that annoyed by. I don’t understand people who obsess over the way other people’s houses look. Unless you have an expensive car or a project car it seems like a waste of good space to store a car in the garage. But hey, to each their own.
If I had a garage it would totally be used for shop space and storage. Most people here seem to use their garages as additional space. My car can survive the rain just fine outside. The tools and equipment I wish I had space for, not so much.
Shame you let other people’s reasonable decisions bother you. Not everyone wants to obsess over opening a car.
Waffle stomp gets me laughing every time in any context.
Sorry for my ignorance, but what specific event are they referencing?
Great read, thanks for the link.
I’ll say the same thing I just said in another post.
What a trash bag of a human being.

Doesn’t mean we can’t learn from them. The process of developing those models can be incredibly useful in learning about complex steps. They help us understand what conditions and variables are important to look into. We can figure out what we know a lot about and what is still a complete mystery.
Turbulent airflow is an incredibly complicated thing, we still haven’t fully solved the Navier+Stokes equations. I hope to be alive when someone does.
Just because they don’t perfectly figure it out the first time doesn’t mean we should stop putting effort into incremental improvements. Though we do have to be careful that we are not wasting resources when there is a more efficient path forward. Simulations are one of many important tools, we just have to use them wisely.
