Enterprise in TNG has a hairdresser named Mr. Mott. U.S. Navy ships have barbers on board.

So whether you’re playing barista, delivering fresh laundry, or giving a trim in the barber shop, you’ll be one of the most popular people on board.

So it’s safe to assume there is someone acting as a ship’s barber. We also know that someone acted as a barber from the episode Cold Fire.

Kes receives studies in honing her telepathic abilities from Tuvok in his quarters. When Tuvok asks her to focus her mind, Kes begins hearing the thoughts of Neelix, who is getting a haircut in another part of the ship.

Sadly, it doesn’t say who is doing the cutting.

Even “smaller” ships have a barber shop - for example the NS Savannah has one, and that has a max of 60 passengers and 124 crew. But they were expecting to be at sea for months at a time.

Voyager may have had a dedicated barber, or maybe someone learned to do it after they got stranded. Maybe they had an Emergency Barber Hologram!

Thanks for the informative answer. The fact that navy ships have barbers is what made me think of the question in the first place. I kind of assumed they might have a barber on starships since they have bartenders and other service personnel but I just couldn’t remember it being brought up.
