    More a “why” than a “how.”

    Looks like a copper handle to discourage growth combined with UV to kill contact contamination?

    Neat idea. I could see it catching on in some situations but a lot of hospitals use automated doors now.

      More for patient rooms than main hallways and enhances i think. Rare for those to be automated.

    Given that the ultimate problem is to stop germ/virus transmission through skin contact on the door handle, I wonder how this compares in practice to other solutions such as automatic doors triggered by proximity sensors.

      Automated doors are better for germs but not good for patient privacy.
