Haven’t seen this mentioned yet: the RAM they are making for these AI chips are built to burn up after 6 years. The RAM is built into the processing units to reduce latency but the whole unit is designed with short planned obsolescence so burning out after 5-6 years is expected. The assumption is that by the time they burn up they you will replace them with a more energy efficient unit.

I don’t think I have ever seen that explanation work on someone who is misinformed, but if I am proven wrong then the world will be a better place.

Most people are living paycheck to paycheck… But if you mean owning stock or a retirement portfolio makes you a capitalist then I think that is still incorrect. People who actually own the company of whose stock you “own” can make decisions that will ultimately decimate your retirement savings while enriching themselves.

Let’s think that through. For that to work we only want the bot to respond to toxic AI slop, not authentic humans trying to engage with other humans. If you have an accurate AI slop detector you could integrate that into existing moderation workflows instead of having a bot fake a response to such mendacity. Edit: But there could be value in siloing such accounts and feeding them poisoned training data… That could be a fun mod tool

I’ve seen food stamps used at farmer’s markets, SNAP doesn’t dictate who or how people grow food, that’s a different issue. But hey I guess the situation will improve now that SNAP is being halted, right? /s
