  • Truly self driving cars would allow you to participate in other activities safely while the car moves you. You could read a book, play a game, apply your makeup, etc. Given that trade-off, I think most people would be willing to sacrifice the extra 2.5 minutes a trip.

2.5 minute estimate derived from the difference of travel time between half the average US daily travel of 42 miles at a speed of 60mph and the same distance traveled at 68mph.

Most people would accept the trade-off of being in the car 5 minutes longer per day if it meant they got 42 minutes of leisure instead of 37 minutes of weaving through traffic.

Also with a critical mass adoption of self-driving cars the speed limit could be increased.

  • [The bill] would force President Joe Biden to send weapons to Israel.

The act is not expected to become law.

Now why would it not become the law? The house passed it so does it maybe have to go through the Senate first and then … I think there’s another step. Something like the target of the bill would have to sign it into law himself thereby compelling himself to resume sending weapons (which he never stopped doing, btw). Yeah, I can see no reason why this performative bull shit won’t become law.

  • Sanctum 2 is a bit older, but it holds up as a solid FPS tower defense hybrid. It’s often on sale for around $4. The dlc is also well worth it, doubling the base game content.

  • If it just says something like “Radeon Graphics” there’s a decent chance that it’s just whatever graphics are bundled on the CPU. This isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s not what I would consider for “mid-range games for a while.” The steam deck APU is a similar setup. It doesn’t have a separate dedicated GPU chip, but it gets away with it by running things at lower resolution, framerate, and quality. Those kinds of chips are generally fine for displaying things on screen and handling video playback, but they’re not powerhouses.

That being said you’ll want to keep an eye out for a dedicated graphics card which will generally be heavily branded (think “AMD Radeon RX 7…M XT” kind of thing).

Since you’re considering running Linux on this anyway why not look into a Linux first vendor? Tuxedo computers is based in Germany and has an all AMD laptop, the Sirius 16.
