Yeah, but I don’t think it’ll open it in the way I want, with only the site content, and no browser furniture. I’ll try it, but I’m not sure. Cheers though 👍

Thanks, but I’ve already changed default to FF - the icons are Chrome shortcuts though, so they will only open in Chrome. And I can’t see a way to make equivalent ones for FF, it just doesn’t seem to have the same functionality, in particular opening a link in a window with no tabs, bookmarks of address bar. Although I am going to check out an add on someone suggested that might do the job.
Thanks though 👍
Oh wow - that add-on does look like exactly what I need. Will need to look into it a bit further, not least because of possible security issues, but thanks, that’s a really good lead! Appreciate it :-)
Ah, thanks very much - but I’m only just dipping my toe into moving to FF, so I probably won’t be moving from Windows to Linux anytime soon! ;-)
Appreciate the advice though, cheers.
Can’t help with an answer, but you could also try posting this over on !Tipofmytongue@lemmy.world, might get a bite.
Not sure if I’d say they hit hard, but for readability it’s hard to beat Rex Stout’s Nero Wolfe books. Some of the best murder mysteries I’ve ever read, so much fun.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide, you likely won’t be able to finish each of the 5 books in the trilogy in a day but it’s something you can read a hundred times and find a new witty joke somewhere
After which you can listen to the radio show, watch the TV show, play the text adventure and maybe watch the movie depending on how much more you can take :-)
My favourite example of this is in Grosse Point Blank, when the GNR cover of Live and Let Die is playing non-diagetically, right until the moment Martin walks into the store, and suddenly a cheesy muzak version of it is playing over the shop radio. It’s beautifully done :-)
Tried Google’s fancy tools on it - not bad:
That’s really cool, I love stuff like this. Movie making in the time before CGI, fabulous.
Agreed, although, that money should come from proper taxation of the very richest.
In addition to other reasons given, I see their web interfaces as recruitment methods.
People who don’t have the app can still click links which bring them to the FB/IG/Tw websites - and then that could be enough to get them interested enough to then go on and install the full app especially when they find out how restricted the websites are.
Ha - fashion > fascism :-)
Thanks, that’s really interesting. I guess black laces were the only safe option!
Thank you for being less lazy than me! Still though, white laces are pretty common. I wouldn’t want to be mistaken for a white supremacist just because of that.
Could you expand on the laces thing? I’ve never heard of laces (white, yellow or anything else) signifying anything in this topic.
I’ve only ever heard one of those songs, but I like it (Bang and Blame)!
Yeah, same here. I don’t disbelieve those who love it, but I just couldn’t get into it because it felt so unintuitive.
Not stuck exactly, more slightly overwhelmed, by Skyrim - never played it before, but it was cheap on Steam recently and day one I played for about 5 or 6 hours… and I’ve never yet gone back because there’s already so much to do. I will go back eventually though.
Oh wow, that’s great, I didn’t realise it was back on the agenda - thanks a lot! 👍
That said, I found this line a bit surprising: “it’s not a goal to make it feel like you’re not in Firefox.”
That’s a shame, because being able to have a website run as if I’m not in a browser is exactly what I want to achieve! Still though, at least they’re looking at the concept.
