• i like reading mostly nonfiction, generally textbooks or other learning material. I’ll also read whatever books my SO recommends, and whatever the current book is for a book club im in.
• I’m young enough that ill be working the rest of my life and this means I’m just trying to learn new skills and hopefully be able to retire someday
• I’ve gotten better over time. I set aside a dedicated block of time for distraction free reading. I make use of pomodoro timers to help stay focused.
• economics 101: time is a scarce resource. It is limited in supply and everyone wants more. Be very intentional with your time. How you spend time naturally shows what you currently value. Maybe that means you will value reading, but maybe that means you will value something else. Think about what you spend time on says about you, and if you don’t like what something says then fix it.

What are your thoughts on the paradox of tolerance? At what point do you personally draw the line of not tolerating the intolerant?

Congrats! You just need to show up. There will be volunteers guiding you along the way so no need to be nervous (i know easier said than done!). Just plan for worst case scenario of having to wait a few hours in line so bring water, weather-appropriate clothes, and something to keep you entertained while you wait (book/ phone/etc). Bring your id and check to make sure you don’t need anything else in your state.

Friendly reminder that tesla auto pilot is an AI training on live data. If it hasn’t seen something enough times then it won’t know to stop. This is how you have a tesla running full speed into an overturned semi and many, many other accidents.

Let’s just remove all video metadata including author. You just get video that is unskippable and you have to watch it (and ads) before getting a new video. Webcam required to track your eyeballs and the video will only play while you are looking at the screen.

That is a complex question but my line of thought is this: artists have accepted legal agreements on how to sell/stream their work and how much they get for it. You as a consumer don’t need to worry about this. If there is a way to buy/stream the product legally then the artist has approved of getting money that way.

Basically i don’t think this should be a point to discourage buying audio and owning it. The alternative is never owning music and tough luck if a song gets pulled because of legal disputes or whatever.
