With Lemmy my problems are only with opinions developers have (spoiler: pro-Russian tankie transphobes). But idea of Lemmy and work put into it still deserve respect.

So as for now I just hope my compatriots will catch up on Fediverse eventually (Mastodon is already quite popular).

Yesterday was Ukrainian Constitution Day, and that is the main reason the attack of that scale happened. Just so some folks get the idea.

If we don’t see dramatic changes in how our allies treat Russia (and I mean much harsher approaches and not plans on how to work with Russia after the war) - “getting the hell outta here” will be on todo list for just about any Ukrainian, including veterans and people viable for service, not just kids.

Well, right now it’s basically an arms race between recruiters and job seekers on who can put less effort in the process.

I’m fairly certain many recruiters absolutely abuse the hell out of LLMs to read résumés, and when LLM-generated resumes arrive en masse - why even bother.

And then you have some “bright minds” using AI agents to even do interviews, making people talk to robots. At some point the job seeking party is gonna do the same, and either it will be “interviewing is dying”, or there will be some serious reconsiderations from employers on how not to organize hiring process.

I believe that Iran deserves better. I know few Iranians and they are actually cool people, who just happened to live under the yoke of folks who believe that earthquakes happen because women wear jeans.

But as much as I’d love to see Iran change for the better, I absolutely wouldn’t trust US and Israel to make that change - they’ll just dismantle the state and leave it in ruins Iraq-style.

When Moscow isn’t silent about its attacks on our civilians - it gets even worse, just remember how they claimed that children’s clinic “Okhmatdyt” was a military hospital.

Not to mention how some Telegram z-bloggers sometimes say quiet part out loud and cheer for Ukrainian kids getting killed because “they’ll grow to be nationalists anyway”.

Ukrainian special services, on the other hand, point out servers and most Telegram employees residing in St. Petersburg and claim that he made few dozen visits to Russia since his alleged flight from there.

I’d add up a bit. The idea expressed there is also basically dismissing Ukrainian subjectivity, and that is exactly what Russians do all the time.

Their ideology locked them in such a position where either Russia exists or free independent Ukraine exists, because they treat Ukraine as “Russia’s missing piece”.

This is why I naively believe that if any ceasefire actually happens (even if slightly unfavorable for Ukraine) - Russia will simply subsequently self-destruct.

Shame that many Americans are just too ignorant to realize what USA is losing right now, and how their literal crisis agent of a president now does damage to diplomatic and economic relations with Europe that will simply never heal. All the respect, all the soft power, all the things that were just status quo that nobody wanted to challenge out of convenience - all out the window.
