looking forward to more things using pipewire camera, I don’t want to have to think about v4l again
whenever somebody brings up some terribly ancient Debian/buntu distro with outdated packages we end up having them use a .deb instead since the ppa is long gone and it’s been fine. wild that they’re often stuck on 4 year old packages though
people can’t handle installing windows, they won’t try anything else en masse either
bold boimler!
love the characters and casting but the narratives of disco leave me wanting something else
year of the Linux desktop before gimp 3
oof not sure about that, partial upgrade can be a doozy
the deck isn’t some server that needs > 100% uptime for years. Debian is poopoo for bleeding edge game releases, especially any alpha/beta/early access stuff
snaps heh
invoking them is kind of a pain, my sole experience with it was meson/ninja using it but then that default was removed and I’ve never been able to put it back to satisfy my curiosity of how it’s done
LTS ISO aren’t guaranteed to work? isn’t that the point, install once and run forever?
it’s software, every update can mess up your system. your only guaranteed good media is the install ISO, after that it’s only as good as the packager, even for LTS
what is the actual use case of LTS on regular desktop non-workstation anyway?
missing a mountain of accessibility tools
they have come a long way since the old pi 2 that would max out it’s cpu just wiggling the mouse around on the desktop
