This is satire, right?
Programmer by day, burnt out by night.
This is satire, right?
Thanks for the incredibly funny mental picture!
but we all had that one kid at our school who was reaaaaaally close to
do the Naruto runwinning a Darwin award
Close, yes, but not quite there. I was that kid at our school.
Damn, even worse for Halo
Hm. I suppose you could see it like that philosophically.
I’d say it more like, you have not won yet until you check and see you’ve won, but I guess that train of thought works, as well.
Buy a game more often if it’s directly on your OS and less if you’ll have to play the Windows version, with indies and very small publishers you could openly request a build for your OS, or at least leave more positive reviews for games with a build for your OS than ones that don’t.
TL;DR make it obvious that there is demand, rather than using a virtualiser and depend on the other system.
If Windows becomes unpopular as a gaming OS, and most publishers and platforms don’t differentiate between genuine Windows and Linux/macOS via Proton/Wine, they’ll stop releasing on it. No matter how many people play on Linux or macOS.
The Bowser headline looks ridiculous if you have no context lol
Honestly, “America broke down and now it’s Medieval Europe over there” sounds more like the dream of some European patriots.
As a sidenote, looking up what the mathematical symbol actually means gave me this gem
Even the Wikipedia community refuses to acknowledge this!
You’re giving him too much credit. He’ll probably call it “X”, as well, grabbing some other Unicode letter, but he’ll keep using the reddit.com domain. Y’know, like twitter.com.
I personally basically never have a reason to mention the site when taking to another person, but if/when I do, I’ll call it Twitter just because calling it ex was confusing in almost every context.
Because it’s text.
There are more kind of letters then just our latin alphabet. Cyrillic, aboriginal Canadian and even Chinese and Japanese can be typed by just text for instance (日本語の例え)
In the same vein, mathematical and other scientific symbols can be typed using just text, and 𝕏 is the symbol that stands in place for arbitrary distance in a formula.
Basically, it’s just a (mathematical) letter, it can be typed.
That’s also why their new CEO had difficulties copyrighting it; it’s just a letter, after all!
Oh no, I’m not saying it benefits them. It just means we depend on them.
Also means Steam, GOG, Itch etc. will see a high percentage of Windows games sold and played. It’s either that, or one of the consoles. Linux or macOS ports are incredibly rare.
Well, or play a mobile game.
That means you’ll be playing the Microsoft Windows version on Linux, yes.
On one hand, I don’t want to reward their shitty copyright etc. practices, on the other hand Nintendo as a game developer is about the only large studio making finished games anymore and I do want to support that
Am I reading the first map right? So much of it is underwater?
