Looks very relaxing and peaceful. Some of my favorite camping trips have been in the eastern Sierras.
This is what I try to tell people who just want the cheapest things possible. We’re voting with our dollars what kind of world we want.
Also, shipping things across the sea burns some of the worst fuel for the environment so I’d rather buy things made here and support the local economy whenever possible.
MSFT has a $3T market cap and $60B of free cash flow each year, so I doubt they’re hurting for money. This is how “growth at all costs” incentivizes myopic decision-making and doesn’t really help foster an environment where studios are willing to take creative risks. Even when they succeed (a la Hi-Fi Rush) they’re on the perpetual chopping block.
“The layoffs will continue until morale improves”
$6.4B for HashiCorp on the heels of $4.6B for Apptio and $34B for Red Hat back in 2018. I wonder how long until they expect each of these acquisitions to be accretive?
Recently moved over to porkbun after dealing with a couple billing issues with namecheap and not getting the best customer service. Been pretty happy so far.
They’re known for launching spears and arrows at visitors, but their aversion towards outsiders might be what’s keeping them from going extinct. Other tribes have been decimated by disease after contact. Hopefully others continue to respect their independence.

They also recently won a deal with Rakuten Mobile to supply RAN equipment in Japan
Kyoto is a magical city, rain or shine

Petting my dog now, have to agree with Charlie
100%. Seems like phones continually get worse under the guise of “progress”. No more headphone jack or removable battery, more bloated software, anti-privacy assistants/AI. Switched to a Sony Xperia for the headphone jack alone and it’s been great, I hope they don’t follow this AI trend or else I’m out.
Earplugs are a great item to have, especially ones that still let you hear your surroundings. Tinnitus is not fun. I shudder at my younger self standing next to amps at concerts/clubs.
That’s awesome. Loved JSRF, used to play it just for the soundtrack
Those are rookie numbers, gotta pump those up. First world ballers are working 140+ hours/week. /s
As someone who spends a lot of time in coffee shops (working, reading studying), the library is a nice change of scenery and you don’t have to buy anything to justify taking up space. A lot of libraries are stunning too.
Also they get you access to audiobooks which are a great alternative to paid subscriptions. I do have a libro.fm account though to support my local indie bookstore.
The one dealership that didn’t have a markup near us sold out immediately and we ended paying a slight markup at another place, but after all the incentives and trade-in it was a steal.
We love our EUV, I don’t think I’ll go back to an ICE car after seeing how convenient home charging is and one-pedal driving is great.
That’s a bummer. Was interested to see what a Honda EV with ultium cells would be like. A sub-$30k EV is what a lot of people are looking for, judging from my experience buying a Bolt. Hope they can figure out the unit-economics
All the video games magazines would do an E3 issue and I remember binging on all the game announcements and event photos. Good times
