Well for one PlayStation OS uses FreeBSD and BSDs might be better suitable for Anti cheat DRM stuff game companies want.
They might go in direction of BSDs.
Why not Ironclad( written in Ada) ? https://ironclad.nongnu.org/
Moksha DE is also good one. Budgie feels more bettter for new users than Cinnamon
