oooh, i almost forgot about the sacred list! thanks for the reminder, looks like there’s quite a bunch out there!
this is more a preliminary search and the result will not be used directly - but i’ll try and come back with information on choice and the reasoning behind it
bonk!
you will need to make sure that jellyfin uses a version of ffmpeg that actually uses your graphics card - you might need to compile ffmpeg with the corresponding flags
but usually you just take it?

I just wanted to call out the person who obviously didn’t read the book (iirc she mentions her upbringins and the major part of the story takes place in california) - but thanks for your reassurance
also, i guess i like the book though the encaptured reality and truth (i.e. how she invites the reader to witness the failure of her relationship) left a weird feeling of unexpected (and unwanted) voyeurism
German? Ain’t she 'Murican?
sad stroustroup noises
It’s not added to an existing piece (or play) but written with the kind, length and ibtntensity of laughter. There are videos with the laugh tracks removed where you can see the small breaks of the cast waiting for the laugh track to stop. Not just is there a timing difference with and without the laugh track, no, jokes themselves work differently. Meaning: without a laugh track you might not be able to tell joke from serious because the guide is missing allowing to laugh (e.g. about the misery, clumsiness, idiocy, etc of a character). Sitcoms without laugh tracks expect compassion to do its magic and is probably much more closely tied to cultural context of the work. Nobody has to tell you what’s funny with Malcolm in the Middle or The Office, you know, because you once experienced (or observed) similar.
