  • Is python being easy to learn actually true?

In my experience teaching C to non computer science students It should be. They struggle a lot with variable type and the strict syntax in general, tokenization , etc, but specially ; and {}. They are more visual so I think the forced identification of python helps and they can see to which block a line of code belongs and also it is easy to think one line one statement. When they forgot a semi-colon it is hard to explain that it became one logical line with the next one.

  • Docstrings now have their leading indentation stripped

I foolish thought that it meant that finally python introduced a hassle free simple way to have indented triple-quoted literal strings. But no. It baffles me that you cannot have simple literal strings that are indented. This is specially annoying if you are using them as templates to output multiline text.

  • “I like my coffee bitter, like life”

“If it tastes good It is not healthy”

Just to clarify, I am not a super healthy eater. I like to use this expression when the topic comes up to point out that there is no magic and is a miserable experience to lose weight and eat better, better to come to terms with it.

Yeah. I am not a super positive person.

  • But IIRC that is never implied in the books and it is shown a couple of times that they know very little about technology and being very surprised by stuff like television. Which is very weird given that a non insignificant part of the wizards are from muggle families and lives among muggles.

Whilst I loved the books, as I read I always had this question in my mind about what if the wizards approached magic with a more scientific method and if they integrated with the scientific advancements of the human world.

  • It is sad that so much of technological advancement is not freeing people from labor has the opposite effect, making people fight to pay rent and necessities everyday and never having free time to live. There is so much to like in these new Ai technologies but they being wielded by capitalists to extract a little more money. I highly doubt that visual arts is a big expensive in movies and films since usually half the budget is marketing and another big chuck to secure big stars to the project.

In any case everyone already lost and the Internet is a little bit worst. Reading about this class actions I think no good will come out of it, or the draconian copyright laws will be even worst and small artists will already have lost to the prior models using their content or a “fair use” exception will be made but only for big companies AI and not help small artists and content creators that battle with DMCA abuse taking down fair use vídeos from YouTube and content from over the net anyway.
