Thank you, it’s very kind of you to say. Thankfully, I hadn’t made any changes in the last few days so everything is fully backed up. A silver lining to an otherwise unfortunate event
Ubuntu… But I just realised I’ve been ransomwared.
Guess I’m spending my Monday recovering from backups. Fun fun fun!

4·2 years agoApple would be looking at a fine of over $35 billion. To put that into perspective, that is equivalent to half of Apple’s iPhone sales evaporating instantly.
Now that’s pretty spicy! I’m glad something is finally being done to try and break up the iron grip these companies have on the world. Shame it’s happening at such a glacial pace though
The EC expects its investigations to conclude within 12 months.
I love this. I have to know what the wider context of it is. Is there more?

Alright… I’m in

4·2 years agoThat’s interesting. So they buy the domain on your behalf and then rent it out to you. Pretty cool concept
That said, I’ve owned a fair few domains and never had to deal with 3rd parties, so I’m not sure if the added security risk (however small) of them hijacking your domain is worth it. For me, at least. YMMV
