Agreed. I think we should be investing our time and effort into trying to make the best of the situation, rather than constantly moaning that we lost. I voted remain, but even I can see that we’re better off as a nation trying to heal the divide and move forward than dwelling in the past.
Am I missing something or are all video resolutions limited to 1080p?
Why not contact him anyway? The worst that can happen is that he says no. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, as they say…
I don’t think it’s unrealistic to appreciate good news. I am more than aware of how bad things are, but to only fixate on the bad is not the way to do things. That’s not realistic because it ignores the fact that goods things are happening. Here’s two websites for you to enjoy, full of good news stories happening all over the world right now:

You seem to be hoping for one big ‘this one thing will immediately save the world’ style discovery, but you and I know that’s not how these things work. If humanity is to ‘solve’ climate change it will not be through one single game changing moment, it’ll be via a cumulation of many success stories big and small, just like this one.
Bad news is addictive and it’s dangerous. Stay informed, obviously, but don’t neglect your own mental health for the sake of waiting for some hyperthetical panacea.
Ive said my piece. Hope you have a good day, friend.
Sure but it’s also important to not let perfect be the enemy of good. You’re right, we do need wide spread and systematic change, but we can also have minor wins like this as we work towards it. The two are not mutually exclusive - the existence of one doesn’t prevent the existence of the other. Small wins also maintain momentum, improve morale and foster continuous change. Let’s not argue over good news, it achieves nothing. At least take some time to appreciate the little wins, or all you’ll ever see is failures 👍.
Sure. But would you, right now, prefer nothing or something? I’d prefer something, what about you?
Better than nothing, though.
Boost for Lemmy allows you to block whole instances using keywords. Works well.
What’s the purpose of the multitude of labyrinth like mini rooms around the edges? Hard to get an idea of size, but the don’t look practical for much.
I was hoping they’d retrospectively fix the issue with Cerys getting killed when defending the grove from the goblin attack, but looks like they only patched out the possibility of it happening. Looks like I’m still soft locked out of fully completing that particular mission.
There’s growing evidence that the opposite may be true:

Plastic grass supports little in the way of biodiversity and will constantly shed microplastics. Actual grass also allows the absorption of rain water into the ground below, whereas fake grass does not. This can contribute to localised flooding, and causes problems for replenishment of aquifers. All in all its awful stuff and the sooner it’s banned the better IMO.
Can’t say I’m dreading a ‘utopia’, vegan or otherwise…
They’re not saying people should stop eating meat entirely, they’re saying people should eat less i.e. swapping a burger with a bean casarole once a week or something. This is not a binary all-or-nothing situation. Every little helps, as they say.
That defeatist attitude benefits no one except the status quo. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. Any positive change is better than none.
Im having similar issues with lemm.ee as well, tbh.
