There’s a lot to criticize about the dems and Bidens administration, that’s for certain. One thing we can say is that even though it hasn’t been the best ally to LGBTQ+ community as it could be, the alternative is an enemy and great threat to all marginalized people. Trump will most definitely work to ban any sort of gender affirming care.

The DNC deserves criticism for sure, and I completely agree with calling out it’s bullshit. They need to do better and/or we need better options, for sure. They should be our most conservative party in an ideal world.

I am aware that not all furries are animal abusers. An uncomfortable amount of them are, unfortunately. Some of the most prominent furry ‘celebrities’ have been outed as zoophiles and predators, and they still have had a fanbase and are allowed to attend cons afterwards.

That being said, I am just making a dark joke. One of my good friends is a furry who calls out and protests zoophiles in the furrydom. Most furries are pretty wholesome. I just don’t think we should hide the fact that a part of that community were drawn to it because they are sexually attracted to animals.

I agree with a caveat. If you are looking up documentation for an API or something software engineer adjacent, I think its fair for the authors of the documentation to assume the reader has a background in computer science, and shouldn’t have to explain topics that are explained in computer science curriculum. Same with other documentation that is intended to be used by specialists in their respective fields.

That’s fair and reasonable. I just think that the fact that alcohol use is so common, it makes it very unfair to pick on other drug users as if they are somehow worse or more prone to violence than alcoholics are.

I don’t think drug use by itself should be enough to take away your gun rights, personally. I do believe mental health reasons are acceptable, though, and if the drug a person is using is making them mentally unstable, then that should be the main reason their gun rights are removed.

I do think that keeping guns out of easy, legal, access of active drug abusers is appropriate. But as you say, without a conviction, the scope of those restrictions should be narrow and appeal-able.

Considering that the form 4473 that you have to sign to purchase a firearm makes no mention of alcohol, I think this is hypocritical, at best. What’s the difference between alcoholics owning a firearm, and heroin addicts owning a firearm? All I know is that I would be way less worried about the junkie gun owner than a raging alcoholic gun owner.
