I said no such thing, what I was referring to is how others politicians get fines in these sorts of cases as opposed to federal felonies.

In the interest of open discussion I have gone over the indictment. My take aways are that the Mayor engaged in conduct not disimilar from similarly situated individuals, and that this disparate treatment of leveling criminal charges to me personally I believe earnestly are politically motivated. I know it is unpopular on lemmy, but this is my sentiment from South Brooklyn, NY (I feel many views are not from metro NY)
I want to see what is being alleged. If this turns out to be the equivalent of parking tickets taken to a federal level it should be easy to draw conclusions. The Mayor has so far disavowed any criminal conduct, and even the acab crowd grilling him can’t guesstimate what the charges are. Regardless lets not act like all these DoJ buzz didn’t start after Adams called out Biden, since then a multitud of invasive investigations and house raids searching for? Every other person irl has mentioned House of Cards, Lemmy downvotes me for reporting it.
Hey I am reserving judgement til paperwork comes out. That does not change the sentiment amongst city employees that this was a hit job, and even the final papers may not answer that. But it does remind me of the Stasi considering everything that has occurred.
We will see in the morning, but everyone in New York is already saying this was a Biden hit job. Its not even a whisper, every group chat is screaming that Joe Biden is doing this in retaliation for Eric Adams standing up against the Biden migrants, it is still very early but this only seems to hurt Harris support and fuel the Adams haters (which lets be honest they are never happy, ie Tiffany Caban says defund police while people get robbed at gunpoint eating in front of her office)
My question is about any type of non “conventional” couple being approved for adoption in China. As I understand it, their policy involved a strict “moral standing” to adopt, anything that deviated was instantly denied. So I am confused as to how any queer people would pass that test, let alone that its happened.
Do you have a source for China allowing anyone who isn’t cisgender to adopt? I have only ever heard that it is an instant denial.
Could be wrong but what I saw was the snakes skin pattern looking like up and to the left arrows which leads directly to it’s mouth.
You would think the fact that Hyrule is always different (sometimes even having a Lorule) and one of the most popular entries (remade three times) was a literal fever dream, that people would say realize the only actual Link is the character we played on the way.
An intern got experience that made her more knowledgeable the rest of this is nonsense
While thats true the Yen’s purchasing power has sank(alot), related 5 Year USD to Yen chart, showing an almost halving
Ty, the only one I was familiar with is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nassau_Inter-County_Express
Is that a thing outside of Long Island?
Just taking a shot in the dark, but the photo in the article suggests it was kept in between pages of a binder. Warm climate, cheap materials, and under pressure makes me feel the disc is just degraded not fake. Regular Vinyl can get easily damaged, I doubt a cheapo mini version would survive decades with absolutely no protection.
Small detail, New York City has three public library Systems (New York, Queens, and Brooklyn). While all three have Banned Books events, BPL specifically (in conjunction with Boston Public Library, LA County Library, San Diego Library and Seattle Public Library) runs a service called Books Unbanned that is said to offer a full collection of Banned Books (I believe NYPL and QPL’s banned collections are curated/limited) to essentially any US resident (Many libraries have residency requirements although I believe NYPL and QPL have waived those [when I was kid you had to bring a piece of mail in NYC to get a card]).
At least in America often the top-tier phones will get the best deals. An example is various carriers a few times a year will give you a new iPhone or Galaxy for free or low cost if you trade in an iPhone or Galaxy (often running promos even taking outdated and broken handsets Example Verizon iPhone 15 Pro deal). Very often budget handsets get little to no subsidy and worse trade-in deals. How many people facing the option of trading in a broken phone for a free high end model, or getting enough trade in value to buy a cheaper basic handset, would not choose and iPhone Pro Max.
This was a decent show but the pacing was slow (felt like they spent half the season showing the inside of the box), the ending felt more incel than hopeful, and I am actually kind of surprised this got a second season.
The real truth of what happens is substantially more complicated due to America being made of 50 states. The medical debt numbers are highly debatable (Related Snopes) and do not account for Regional differences. In some states such as New York there are catchalls/emergency funding so that usually anyone making below low six figures can get their bills paid. Other states make collections difficult such as New Jersey not allowing reporting to credit agencies, making ignoring a debt kind of a non-issue. Then there are states such as Florida that require the barest of insurance to keep rates low and provide no patient protections, so when an accident does occur out of pocket costs can be huge as your insurance covers nothing. In all these events the Hospital assumes that big pocket insurance is paying first so they break out the expensive menu, when they realize they can’t get blood from a stone they are grateful if you cover their wholesale price.
