He’s not wrong and has never lied in his life. In fact he took a vow of truth in Tibet.
You’re trying to argue there isn’t anything inherently nasty about cleaning up literal human shit clogs. What is even the point in engaging with you in good faith? I’d rather take the piss out of your frankly ridiculous position.
Everybody loves cleaning up other people’s poop. In a communist society there would be people queuing around the block to volunteer for that job instead of being an artist or a rock star. Everybody will just do things for fun and be shiny happy people.
Well my mum’s boyfriends cousin is a sewer clearer and he says it’s terrible and smells like shit and everybody who says otherwise is lying. Who do we believe?
The only actual solution is one that both sides wouldn’t accept, a secular one state solution. Alas there are too many religious crazies for that to be a reality.
I’m pretty sure Hamas are not interested in negotiations for peace. It’s very reductive to blame one side as bad faith actors in what is the most complicated peace process that’s ever faced humanity.
I agree that Israel should be open to shifting some of their past red lines, but Hamas are not rational actors. They are religious extremists akin to ISIS. Why they are like that is a historical question, but it’s very difficult to negotiate peace with fundamentalistic radicals.
Now, Zionism is also bad don’t get me wrong about that either, but it’s a different flavour of bad.
I understand this but it’s still reprehensible to do so and leaves Israel with very little choice other than to go in on the ground, or just accept the threat of terrorism permanently. There is a reason Israel gives a lot of warning for their strikes. I do genuinely think they are under very real pressure from allies to reduce civilian casualties.
Maybe if the civilians are actually militants then Hamas should stop counting them as civilian casualties?
Perhaps you should try reading what I actually said instead of what you thought I said.
It literally is theft, theft is a well defined legal concept.
I’m calling bullshit on pirates spending more on media than non pirates as a percentage of consumed content. I guess the correlation makes sense if we assume the worst offenders are those who are consuming the most media in general.
Regardless it is theft. That’s not to make an ethical judgement but it is. You can make an equivalent stand by not purchasing the media, you don’t have to also illegally download something to make the same point or provide the balance as you put it.
If you knew anything about US patents you will know there will have been an extensive analysis of potential prior art. To grant a US patent you need to provide an extensive information disclosure statement and examiners can combine bits of prior art to try and argue against novelty and inventiveness.
Clearly the claim scope that has been protected with this patent has been deemed to be novel by the USPTO.
I love how you quoted an invention summary as though that was all there is to the technology.
If it wasn’t novel or inventive, they wouldn’t have received a patent for it. They’re not just giving them away for a laugh, there is an entire independent process to determine whether something is worth patenting.
It’s still morally reprehensible to use civilians as air raid shelters. Completely against the Geneva convention.

If the content creators want to create content without the might of a studio behind them giving financial backing they are free to independently publish their work on Kickstarter. Most aren’t happy to do so.
You want the studios to support your favourite content creators, but you don’t want to pay the studios. If everybody thought like this the whole system would collapse in a bad way.
How about instead of seeking out free ways to steal other people’s work you actually seek out the independent creators you are supposedly happy to pay for?
Make sure nobody gets paid for anything so that nobody bothers making the content you enjoy??
Ironically by not advocating for IP you are depriving people from earning from their valuable mental labour.
If I invent something and spend time, effort and money into developing it, I should be allowed to be rewarded for that effort. If a competitor comes along and steals my idea without putting the wok in, I am absolutely being deprived of all the value of my hard work. That’s how someone can steal your intellectual property.
People’s views on IP boil down to: I want to pirate games. None of you are thinking about patents and trademarks and how they benefit people from having their work shat on. Lemmy is infuriating.
IP is obviously real in the same way money is real. Just because something isn’t physical doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Was it the vorblarons? I’ve heard they speak in opposite English, so you have to listen to the reverse of what they say.
