The white savior complex of Mr. Beast videos can be pretty rough, but I really don’t hate him like other people do. Dude got his money started by saying words thousands of times and makes a big deal out of being a good person with his money. When other YouTubers in his sphere get famous by filming dead bodies in suicide forests and proudly hoarding as much money as possible, I have to respect the guy whose making networks of food bank and makes a point out of being a good friend. He saw the SunnyV2 video on Kris and said that he didn’t give two fucks about how Kris’ transition affected the company because she’s his friend and it’s her life. The Mr. Beast subreddit also took transphobia way more seriously than I expected them to, and they widely said it was because Mr. Beast content is about being a good friend, bigotry and concern trolling had no quarter.

At worst, Mr. Beast is a well meaning lib. As much as I don’t like the practices, he’s a good community guy who wants to bring people together. Mr. Beast making organizing charity a cool thing to do is good.

Crazy that although Mr. Beast has old clips of transphobic jokes, Mr. Beast handled Kris coming out fantastic. Linus talked about Emily like Linus was banning the transphobic comments just to keep decorum for the business. Mr. Beast talked about Kris like he was offended that people were insulting his friend.

Wiley did a lot of the production on Boy In Da Corner, but Dizzie hates Wiley with a burning passion now. It’s tough with Wiley specifically because he could be argued to be an inventor of the genre. Pirating his stuff isn’t a bad idea. He’s too important in the history of grime to fully avoid between all his production credits and features, however it’s a very loaded recommendation because Wiley is a POS. I’d say grime is more lyrical than American hip-hop in the fact that being your own person and being independent are much more valued in grime culture. JME’s vegan bars would be controversial in American rap, while in Grime it’s seen as charming and funny even by non vegans. Grime has lyrically boring tracks just like any other genre, but there’s more freedom to be a unique personality within the movement because it has some roots in punk. It’s okay for JME to be a straight edge nerd that loves to get more technical with his writing, he’s one of the biggest rappers in Grime. JME, Skepta, Wiley, Flowdan and Kano all have extremely unique personalities and music within the genre and it’s praised. It’s more about the music than the social dynamics, so it’s okay to be corny because you think a line is funny.

The best grime album is Godfather by Wiley. That album doesn’t have any misses, it’s just crazy from front to back. Too bad he’s such an anti-semite that Godfather got taken off streaming. But Godfather is pretty much that era of grime perfected. Grime MC is also really good.

Flowdan is someone I’d consider a grime GOAT. And grime is a small enough genre that a lot of people have the same GOAT picks. Glad to see him working with Skrillex because Skirllex is a great fit for grime.

I have no idea how Source went from being so taxing to so insubstantial in the course of a few years. By the time I really got into gaming around 2010, Source games were the ones we’d throw on our shit box laptops and play together in class.

Metro 2033. I used to play it on my Dad’s slightly more powerful machine until I could upgrade my machine. One of the best examples of art direction and great graphics being utilized together. Last Light looks like a PS4 game no matter what platform you play it on. Easily one of the best looking games ever.
