Wouldn’t be surprised if it actually changed the flavour a bit.
That’s one way to make the “secret sauce” for burgers. Just ketchup, yellow mustard, mayo and sometimes relish. Mixing them before adding to the burger changes the taste considerably.

Nobody has to pay for anything Lemmy or ActivityPub related because its FOSS.
That means Free Open Source Software.
As in, you can get and use the source code yourself without paying a single cent.
AWOO gimme the wolf
Just look at the current state of Skyrim modding.
Aside from some still holding to LE. There are the 1.5.97 SE users and the 1.6+ AE users. And there have been at least one or two more updates in the 1.6 line that also caused more issues and require their own dedicated builds of various mods.
Its fucked
A friend of mine has been looking to upgrade his gaming rig since its pretty old and low budget. Still even has Windows 7!
The build he’s looking at has Ubuntu. I’m excited to welcome him into the Linux community.
Those alternatives are old tech that has way more limitations than a neural implant.
Just because there is old tech that SORT OF does this, doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. That’s the same attitude behind “not needing more than 4mb of RAM” back in the day. You can’t stop progress all because YOU are fine with the current state of the tech.
Based on your reaction, I’d hate to hear your opinion on AI. Let me guess, its corpo data theft and only data theft?
What about the multitude of FOSS projects that even you could use if you wanted?
Certainly looks better than the average indie game. And before you come at me for saying that.
Indie is often touted as “better than AAA”. But in order for that to be the case, they need to at least offer something similar first. But most indie games are so far removed from even the average AAA game, that its basically apples and oranges.
AA, or mid-tier, is really where its at. Some of the best games in recent years have all been from the AA space. Even ones that launched rough like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk.
They are still leagues above the average indie game that most people here and “the site that shall not be named” tend to list off as their favourites.
So yes, Elden Ring indeed does have great graphics. Not the most cutting edge, but at least it looks like it belongs in the same generation as its competitors.

Funny thing is, most multiplayer blokes play at low settings anyways to maximize performance for some form of advantage.
For starters, it would need to have level streaming and a landscape system. The visual scripting system could use some work as well. It also needs a better GI solution. The stuff that currently exists is still a ways off from being production ready. Something like SVOGI so we can get some decent, voxel-based global illumination. I think that’s what they are trying for. But it still falls a bit short.
Only issue I have is its not quite close enough feature wise to replacing Unreal Engine for me.
Still impressed with how far Godot has come though. And currently using it for making non-game applications. Its actually quite good at that.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen one before.
I swear I’ve had stuff with stripped screws right from the store.
Can you have a normal debate without resorting to ridiculous attacks like this? Grow up.
The term “assault weapon” is being used by people who know nothing about firearms to refer to anything that isn’t an old bolt action these days.
Its meaningless
Meanwhile, 5.56 is plenty if you are accurate.
And, the US military is currently adopting the MCX Fury as their new standard issue rifle.
That thing fires the .277 fury cartridge that is way better at armor penetration than 5.56 ever could be.
And the reason .308 isn’t used as much for most military issued rifles is more to do with recoil and capacity than anything to do with the ballistics.
A .308 would be far better for killing literally anything than 5.56, but is mostly for use in semi-auto marksman rifles and some snipers. Where accuracy of first shot matters more than volume of fire.
It would certainly help.
What is the point in making up terms for firearms that have never been used for them even by the military?
It only serves to muddy the waters and scare people.
A machine gun, traditionally, is a fully automatic firearm in a rifle format.
Think light machine guns (M249, PKM) or a sub-machine gun (MP5, P90)
A machine pistol isn’t technically a “machine gun” despite the name. In fact, the classification of machine pistols is a debated topic even now.
In many places, they are classified as any other pistol. In others, they considered a form of PDW or Personal Defense Weapon.
But, PDW can sometimes refer to a specific class of SMG like the P90. Basically, a compact firearm with a cartridge around 6mm or so. Which the P90 fires a 5.7mm round.
Its complicated. And we should not be painting all firearms with the same brush.
Just flashed back to the ending of SCP Overlord
