This city doesn’t know what’s coming
She doesn’t feel the heat
This city won’t know what hit her
What knocked her out into the streets
This city’s thinking that it’s over
And she’s already fast asleep
I don’t think the world is ready for Bethesda Seinfeld RPG. But I am.
I actually played through it last month and it blew me away. I cannot wait to do a second play through when phantom liberty comes out! It was so so good.
Brink… Sigh. I remember that trailer coming out and I watched it like every day for years waiting for it to come. I watched every dev vlog, read every update. For years I was hyped on that. At time of release my buddy and I took the week off of work. We played it for like 3 hours one night and finished it. I remember thinking “there must be a mistake. This can’t be it. This isn’t the game I’ve been dreaming about.” I never booted it up again after that first night.
Brink was my CP2077.
Beautiful! Lucky enough to live around there. What a great reminder to appreciate the views that are so easy to take for granted.
Thanks for sharing!
So now that it’s 100% clear that he has the hatred of the reddit community, he is in the perfect position to make all the changes no one asked for, and do what the board believes is necessary to fully monetize Reddit, and then get “sacked” with a nice and hefty severance package.
He played the part of fall guy perfectly. The “I adore Elon Musk” interview was the cherry on top.
Omg no.
Anyways
Yes, I have had ongoing issues with friends on lemm.ee accessing my magazines on kbin.social, despite being federated. That problem has persisted for about a month.
I guess even the things that seem to work properly have kinks to iron out.
But that’s the whole point of the post. I’m missing posts/threads from users. It’s so much more than just subscriber count unfortunately. Votes were off as well from kbin vs Lemmy (Lemmy seems to auto upvote your own post, kbin doesn’t - which could explain some variance) but haven’t checked comments.
Respectfully, that doesn’t have anything to do with what is happening here.
Why is it that when I go to a Lemmy community from kbin I see three posts by user123 in the last 24 hours, but when I go from Lemmy I see user123 has made 12 posts in the last 24 hours?
Something is not working as intended.
Thank you! I’d boost your comment but I get an error message each time I try
It’s happened to several, but yeah, alternativenation was the one that set me off lol. I saw so many posts about so many great artists when I viewed from Lemmy! I was so bummed seeing everything I missed and didn’t even realize I was missing it!
I have also wondered about search functionality. I have a magazine that is music focused but doesn’t have the word music in it. However, with Kbin, I’m not aware (please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, I can be a blundering idiot with technology) of a way to tag or add key search words for my magazine. So if you search for Music it will not show up. I assume Lemmy has something like that which is why something like the Punk community returns from a “music” search.
They don’t have a meeting with Toyota and say “check out the community banner our users created”
They say “we launched a promo that lasted 48 hours (or w/e the fuck it is) and community engagement was through the roof. We had an increase of x% users during this time. The next time we will do this it will be $X amount for X amount of ad space so you can get in front of X amount of users”
I haven’t seen r/place but I bet there are 0 ads on that page. Reddit is smarter than to sell ad space next to FUCK SPEZ and My Little Pony Porn. What they will do is increase ad prices for the next “event”.
No matter what you think, this engagement is supporting them.
I completely agree, friendo.
This should not become reddit 2.0. let them keep their platform for poop jokes. I’m 100% content with the users we have and have had a wonderful time engaging with them. We don’t need to advertise on r/place is the point I tried to make. We don’t need the people who are still using reddit and think it’s funny writing FUCK on r/place.
Sorry if I didn’t get that across originally.
I didn’t say I want content vomit. I said focusing on content is essential. A community is nothing without content. We need questions being asked and answered in our tech communities. We need artists and musicians posting in theirs. We need conversation that is thought provoking which allows our communities to form and flourish.
If you see the word content and just jump to dumb memes than I think that’s more of an issue with your way of thinking than an issue with anything I have suggested.
I keep trying to explain that engaging with reddit (even saying fuck reddit or advertising the fediverse) still puts money in Reddit’s pockets. The only option is to stop going there and focus on content here.
And as for those who want to continue to use reddit to complain about reddit on reddit… Well I am okay with those people not being recruited to here tbh
Saying “Fuck u/Spez” on Reddit is like protesting McDonald’s by buying BigMacs.
Very well said. Great call out.
Nice! Thanks for the info :)
Mine is 7 months old now. I felt the same. Just wait, you’ll likely feel that it was the best thing you ever did. Your kid may be the one to drive some positive change. Just do the best you can and give yourself some grace.
