Falkon is better for privacy than stock Chrome or Firefox, but I still find Brave or LibreWolf better than that.

Now that I’m getting into retro gaming as an actual hobby I want to try the originals if I can, but these will still probably be quite good.
Ah, yes, the infamous “Capcom Test”, as a YouTuber I watch calls it. There are thoughts of making a sequel in a franchise, so Capcom re-releases an old game (or in this case, collection) to gauge interest, not thinking about the fact that people may already have other versions of the game and don’t need this one, then they cancel the sequel before it even gets off the ground if the re-release of the old game doesn’t sell enough, which to Capcom is often a stupidly high number. This already killed a Darkstalkers revival, we can only hope it doesn’t do the same for MvC.
I dunno, the N64 had just as long a lifespan as the other consoles at the time. That said, the Game Boy was still selling like crazy (one word: Pokemon), especially with the Pocket and Color out in the N64 era, and the Game Gear was already effectively dead by then. I don’t know what Nintendo would’ve been so afraid of there.
It just wasn’t a problem to them and it was a problem for people they didn’t like (whom they call Nazis, various “-ists” and so on if they dare think differently from them). Now it’s flipped and it’s a problem for them but not the people they don’t like. Every platform needs some form of moderation, but that moderation can run the risk of being too harsh on certain groups depending on the opinions of the moderators. Dorsey himself admitted this was happening at Twitter (being too harsh on legitimate conservative views (not just real Nazis) because the mods didn’t like them) to Congress before it was sold, and he did little to nothing about it. Now the moderation seems to be at the whims of however Elon is feeling on any given day, and due to his own stances, liberals are now getting the brunt of it. It really would be nice to just have somewhere where only the very extremes of left and right, and any actual illegal content, would be moderated out and the mods could keep to that no matter what “side” they or ownership is on. But I know that’s just a pipe dream.
A Rugrats game in 2024. Certainly didn’t have that on my bingo card.
At this point I’m just quite happy Capcom went back and localized it at all. I know they were planning to at first and then staffing issues hit, but after 15+ years it seemed they were just going to ignore it, especially since localizing games like these with so many other aspects outside straight translation can be a lot of challenging work that can require a lot of communication between the dev team and localizers.
My mistake, I meant Telegram. I get the two confused.
With the proliferation of actual illegal material on Telegram I can at least understand Durov being arrested, even if I’m undecided on whether I agree with it. But why in the heck would they reasonably go after Rumble? It’s just American conservative YouTube. I haven’t heard of any actual illegal/illicit material (political opinion pieces don’t count, that is in fact free speech) at all connected to Rumble, or at least no worse in proportion to YouTube or Twitch.
EDIT: And as far as I’m aware, Rumble does have moderation, it’s just not as strict as YouTube’s at least when it comes to expression of opinion. I wouldn’t doubt they have a policy in place for that kind of illegal/illicit material to at least be taken down. Perhaps France was threatening them because they wouldn’t cooperate by handing over user data after that? /shrug
But could he beat Matt from Wii Sports?
Sonic Team’s follow-up to the Sonic franchise. Released on the Sega Saturn, so despite it being one of the Saturn’s better-selling games, few people played it back when it was new. It has a decent cult following of fans and seems to be generally regarded as a good-but-not-spectacular game (like a solid 7-8 out of 10), but it’s nowhere near Mario 64’s caliber.
Didn’t help that the games weren’t there for it either. But the vicious cycle of “console needs games to sell units -> devs won’t make games for consoles that don’t sell” was in full effect for the 7800, and really any Atari console after the 2600, except maybe their Lynx handheld (which still lived in the Game Boy monolith’s shadow just like every other competing handheld).
Of the games I can think of, probably Super Mario Land.
My Switch hasn’t seen any playtime in the past couple weeks 'cause I’ve been watching the Olympics, but I have one more chapter to go in Paper Mario: TTYD remake that I’ll probably go back to once the Olympics are over.
I did dust off my 3DS one afternoon and finally continue some progress in Fire Emblem Echoes. I’m almost through that game as well, and then to complete my playthroughs of the 3DS Fire Emblem games I have both versions of Fire Emblem Fates waiting on the docket. I’ve generally heard Conquest is better (for gameplay at least) between the two but both are something of “black sheep” in the series. Since the eShop shut down I won’t be able to play Revelations, but from what I understand that’s a good thing, lol.
They are. The IOC is just incredibly slow on the uptake, as they are with many things.
Actual anti-semitic, fascist, racist people and groups who support the ideology of Nazi Germany and use Nazi symbols and iconography to support their cause. Actual white supremacists. Not every conservative or even most conservatives or MAGA Trump supporters. The real right-wing loons.
Did it stop working again tonight? It was working earlier today on my tablet.
While I largely agree with your point, as an Odysee user myself I know there is a visible amount of actual Neo-Nazi content there. That said, such channels are not difficult to block on the user end on the platform so you don’t see them after the first time, there’s not so much that it’s a constant annoyance, and there is still plenty of worthwhile content on Odysee to watch, including various YouTubers who mirror their content to the platform. While the Neo-Nazi content is harder to find on Rumble, it’s more politically focused and feels like it’s more meant to be “right-wing YouTube” whereas you can actually find more of a variety of viewpoints on Odysee.
I’m pretty “basic” in my choices. Both Zelda titles, Mario 64, Mario Kart, the three Mario Parties, StarFox 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Kirby 64, Banjo-Kazooie. I just bought an N64 a few weeks ago partially because I wanted to experience the games I had growing up again and also play a bunch I missed. I tried Mischief Makers because it looked interesting and I enjoy the unique mechanics but the controls are hard to master enough to feel like I even have a basic handle on them.
I’ve already played a fan translation of Investigations 2, but I’ll probably pick it up when I buy Emio the Smiling Man, if only to play the actual official translation and see how it was intended by Capcom.
