  • The article is terrible. What actually happened? Was his violence actually unprovoked or was it self defense? It says some shit about him being surrounded and liquid thrown on him.

Violence is never appropriate, except in self defense.

If he wasn’t defending himself this is probably a hate crime, and he should have the book thrown at him.

Edit ah, the other comment linked article indicates he started things by trading insults with the group. So he walked into the situation.

Fuck what Israel is doing to Palestine. This dude should have just walked away in the first place.

If there is video of them pushing him down and surrounding him, then it’ll be a messy case.

  • Disclaimer: I am not holding or promoting the following.

But the meme is “if you’re gonna eat a sandwich, you’d like it better if someone hadn’t fucked it first”

I think the core of the meme revolves around possession. Seeing the “sandwich” as something to attain, and possess, and consume. Indeed, I would not like someone to fuck my lunch. But a person has an independent life where their value is certainly not graded in such a way. ( Or any way, in this context)

If you are obsessed with taking something pure, and only having your influence on it, for all time, then the virgin thing matters.

Words have definitions. Real life has different situations. Those situations have different motives and results, even if they share features. Edit you can’t just declare everything violent terroristic.

It’s silly to assume that the same actions would have the same impacts on two very different types of crime, despite both of those crimes having a gun.

For example: red flag laws where family or certain professionals can bring forward action to take guns away from someone or get them certain care. This is triggered by said folks detecting or acknowledging certain concerning behaviors in someone who might carry out a mass shooting.

This wouldn’t help with someone considering a robbery, as their pattern of behavior (edit and motivation) isn’t the same.

I am not advocating for red flag laws, or discounting them. That’s not the point.
