Yea I’m not too keen on giving authorization to hit pedestrians. If I feel threatened in my car, I am not allowed to run over the person so why should a driverless car gain that right? And if the panic button is going to call the police, how is that any different from the passenger using their phone to contact police? Seems like extra steps of middlemen and confusion when the passenger could just call once they feel the need.

I could defintely see a case for some extra safety features that help keep the doors locked and shut, maybe thicker windows too if needed to prevent robberies/assaults.

If at any point you need 5 additonal lanes, you don’t need lanes, you need different infrastructure

It isnt fake, but a lot of the plastic in the blue box never gets recycled. And many plastics are mixed which makes them difficult to recycle. Many can also only be recycled once or twice and still be usefull.

What bothers me is some of my friends heard about plastic recycling being fake and immediately assume all recycling is fake. So now they don’t even try to recycle normal cardboards, papers, and metals because “recycling is a myth”.

This doesn’t help the people already stuck. On these drugs, homeless, and dealing with the mental health issues that come with that is a huge burden, even if we fixed the issuess that push people into these addictions, they may not be able to get out of these situations on their own. Things like getting housed or employed become increasingly difficult when homeless and addicted. Ideally these involuntary treatments include housing treated people and assisting them in getting their own housing and employment.

At least a subway/train is accessible to nearly everyone. Driving isn’t accessible to some disabilities, people under 16, people too old to safely drive, and people unable to afford a car.

Decades of research has now proven that more lanes does not fix traffic and in many cases can actually make traffic worse. Why are we still wasting money on ineffective infrastructure? Whats next 3 tunnels, a surface level highway, then 3 raised highways above it?

My parents got pet insurance the first day they adopted a puppy. Within a week he had blood in his urine and the insurance refused to cover it. Then he got his toe cut and infected, again the insurance refused to cover it. They also said future issues with legs, gait, walking or anything that can be linked to the amputated toe won’t be covered. If pet insurance doesn’t cover medical issues or injuries, what the hell does it cover?

They have to pay the fine back to people who all paid the fee right???

People can be against EVs and still be for the environment. EVs still need massive amounts of parking and lanes, our zoning laws often mean we keep destroying natural land to pave these spaces. The EV will also prolong the suburban experiment which is massively worse for the environment compared to desner housing options. Some people view EVs as delaying some of the more pressing issuses related to tranportation and city development in our urban areas.

Personally I think EVs are better than ICE but i dont think just swapping them out is doing enough for the environment or to reduce our overall energy demands.

Mixed use zoning and a multiuse building? This defintely isnt a north american city. America is “too big” to build like this.

I don’t see how harris winning makes everyone suddenly love trudeau again. The liberals need a new leader if they want to prevent a conservative win.

A tram could go faster and have signal prioirty at intersectuons. Buses are the lowest tier and lowest quality of transit.

If you can drive to work in 15 minutes. Properly funded and prioritized transit can get you there in 10. Hourly bus service is not good transit.

Canada still uses biosolids, but they can’t be used on crops directly for humam consumption, instead used on cattle feed or other crops that do not go from field to plate.

My pc lasted over 10 years without a GPU or CPU upgrade. Now it doesn’t keep up with AAA titles but there are still plenty of games, old and new, that I can play.

You have to consider the versatility of a pc to truly compare them. The pc will have better alternative uses like web browsing, the pc is very easy and fairly cheap to increase storage, you may be able to upgrade just some RAM or GPU to keep up rather than buying a new console. You’ll also have access to more games and more modding opourtunities. You can still use a controller on pc although you are often at a disadvantage in most FPS style games.

If you just want to game a console may be better or easier but overall a pc is usually the better investment in the long run.
