That was a big factor. Nobody could steal the ball from him, they couldn’t reach that low, and his fakeouts were legendary. I didn’t follow the sport at all, but was glad to have to Hornets as my nearby team. Watching him go up against giants was so fun.
(I may mis-recall all the details because this was some years back.) There was girl who took a Danny Devito cutout as her “date” to highschool prom and posted the professional prom photo online, and the story got big enough that he heard about it. He was so amused by it that he brought a custom made cardboard cutout of her from the prom picture to the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia set to take a photo with.
An impressively complete and comprehensive list. I don’t think they missed a single reason. Bravo.
I assume the term is referring to the person knowing only the vibes of the program they want to code rather than comprehending the details of what it needs to do.
We changed the recipe since then, adding sugar and spices to make them actually taste good, so we can’t expect it to still work. Not that it ever worked in the first place.
I agree, it’s insane that customs ever accepted a fictional port on uninhabited islands as a point of origin in the first place. That’s the loophole they should close. It does appear that that’s a thing that did actually happen though, so it’s not a complete fabrication. I’d say customs should have been authorized to confiscate any such good until a non-fictional provinence was proven.
Yeah, I assume the now-former employee acted with full expectation of losing her job over this. She succeeded at bringing attention to something many people (myself included) hadn’t heard about before, so she at least accomplished that much.
You’re right, that does sound particularly like something an autistic person would say. It’s also something I’d be perfectly happy to hear and engage with.
“New toilet paper, same shit” is how an old boss of mine used to say it. Good for if you want to go clever yet crude.
Well, I’m doing my part against them by refusing to click on any bait headlines, but I fear it’s a lost cause anyway.
No, they’re referring to how when a job finishes up, they typically move to a new job site. Change of scenery instead of the same four walls every day for years.
It may not rise to the level of proof, but it is a memorable and easily understood demonstration of something already proven by car safety researchers, as mentioned in the article.
Why shouldn’t they precut the wall into cartoony shapes? It adds entertainment and doesn’t compromise the demonstration.
“Hey, what’s for lunch?”
“A stick of butter.”
You speak with wisdom. Indeed, today we strengthened our house further, by meeting back up and working together to improve the reliability of both our vehicles, for the GLORY OF THE EMPIRE!
I went out to dinner with my parents FOR THE GLORY OF THE EMPIRE! It’s always nice when I get to spend some time with them and catch up.
I can’t remember who it was, but I saw a comedy routine where the guy described a conversation he had with his financial advisor. The advisor asked him “What does financial stability mean to you?” The comedian, having just recently started earning real money from comedy for the first time, had never even considered such a question before and had to ponder on it for a moment. Finally he thought up an answer. “What financial stability means to me is when I’m ordering food and they ask if I want to add guacamole, I don’t have to think about it, I can just say yes.”
That line really stuck with me, and I have found it to be an accurate indicator of my own financial stability. Only works if you actually like guac though.
Well of course I am. Lots of sensible folks are posting negative things about ICE online. ICE are a bunch of assholes.
That’s my read on it too. Trying to have it both ways, and not exactly succeeding at it.
Not surprisingly, people who couldn’t admit when they were wrong didn’t come into this thread and admit that they have been wrong.
