It was jokingly called LagWiz for a reason
That prediction aged poorly
Not OP, I’ve heard criticism of their recent Duo subscription and their bitcoin wallet.
I use Proton services and my biggest gripe is their mediocre Linux VPN app. No binaries to download/Flatpak, advertised port-forwarding isn’t fully implemented and requires playing around in a terminal, and UI feels less polished than it’s Windows counterpart.
There’s a community made Flatpak of ProtonVPN though, in case it helps anyone
That’s just one feature, and not everyone followed - PSVR 2 uses Fresnel lenses, upcoming “cheaper” Quest 3 is rumoured to use Fresnel lenses as well.
The market needs competition on the mid-range/budget front, those high end features aren’t “trickling down” as there’s no hardware for them to go.
Someone at Microsoft must’ve had a stroke while writing this
Not all of them. Full scan of hardware is performed only when participating in a survey or requesting a hardware report. An example is Steam on my PC not detecting a SteamVR native headset (goggles icon doesn’t appear) until I’ll launch VR mode.
Countries already phase out LTE? Where?

The Quake rerelease still offers the classic GLquake
If I’m not mistaken Valve said they want to release it for desktops
So like a system button on an original HTC Vice?
Especially as mainline Linux/Pipewire supports almost all Bluetooth codecs, including aptX Low Latency
ALVR is meant for wireless headsets only
Try Envision. In general OpenXR games run amazingly through Monado (Vive Pro), but OpenVR games are a hit or miss

Unofficially yes, but currently only on AMD cards and requires kernel patches as of this writing.
SteamVR on Linux is still a large issue stopping people to enjoyably play VR games on it. Yes Monado exists but it’s not a drop-in replacement for SteamVR
There’s a community driven effort to get it working, called Monado. To my knowledge they reverse engineered controller tracking and got to some extend room tracking working, but nothing production ready
