Libraries also have movies and games!
Also a lot of libraries have other stuff you can check out! Tools, sewing machine, printer, photo scanner etc!
We scanned hundreds of old photos in minutes with the thousand dollar value equipment at our library totally for free! It was really cool! Ours has all kinds of equipment for converting old media to digital.
Plus these huge satellite maps of our city from the past, it’s like a 3.5’x3ft book of aerial photos. Idk what you’d need that for, but it was fun to look through them!
That they were trying to train their toddler to sit at the table but having an issue because the toddler wants to give the dog the table food and the dog wants to get that food which knocks the toddler over because the toddler is just learning to sit at the table. They normally put the dog out no problem but the dog knows the toddler is at that table now so is extra motivated to be let back in. A short term thing, and they needed the toddler to be able to focus.
Seems like you mean we, not they
Until there is a diet that has long term success for a majority of its users I don’t think this mindset is healthy or realistic.
“According to the latest weight-loss research, 95% of dieters end up regaining the weight they lost within two years. Calorie-restricting diets are often successful at helping people lose weight, but they’re very unsuccessful at helping people maintain that weight loss.” source
My neighbor texted me the one time they had their dog barking in the backyard for 10 min + with an explanation of why he was out there, and the offer to bring him back in if it was too noisy in our house. 10/10 great neighbor, and honestly made me not mind the barking at all
Yeah, people definitely don’t understand that you can cut so much and bargain hunt the whole thing and still spend 15-20k. That’s a"cheap" wedding. The average in my area is 33k. That’s not because people are just spending frivolously and don’t budget, that’s because every single aspect of a wedding is expensive. Hell, tipping out the bar staff and photographer alone is expensive.
Skip it if you want, but even as a very frugal person, I’m very happy we had a huge party with lots of food and an open bar. It’s worth it to spend money on life rites. Life rites are like half the point of being human!
If you don’t care about celebrating with friends and family, don’t spend the money, but for us sharing the day with the people we love and merging our families was important.
I think it’s funny you used cheeseits as your example because that’s one of the few things I won’t buy generic of because they’re just different. Little cookies, crackers, chips, and chocolates are usually brand specific in taste (though don’t assume you prefer the name brand, you may prefer the generic!) so they’re not fungible. I’d rather skip the calories than have generic cheeseits or Doritos.
Patch testing likely wouldn’t have made a difference, this is about extended use that probably broke down her skin’s barrier over time.
When I had a baby and then got COVID, I started washing my hands more often, and really too often. Using the same gentle non scented antibacterial soap I had been for years, I turned my hands into a dry cracked and bleeding mess, and when I used the same gentle non scented oatmeal moisturizer I have used for years, I ended up with insane burning on the backs of my hands, and a bright red burn/rash. This was all in about a week.
I stopped using hot water to wash, and only used soap on my palms/fingers. I waited for my skin to repair itself. Now I continue to use that same soap and lotion with no problem. It was never the products that were the problem, it was over use.
The true answer is a bit embarrassing, but it’s because my husband does our grocery shopping and he is bad with money. He will buy too much stuff because it’s a “good deal” which just ends up costing more overall. I love him so much, and he has so many good qualities, but he’s a real sucker for “deals” and that’s all Costco is.
I’m using Costco pods and they are the best I’ve used. I don’t pre rinse, I use it on old dishes. My dishes come out nice and clean. My sister cancelled her membership and now I have to find a new dishwasher pod dealer.
That’s not necessarily a false sense of privacy if it works. There’s an inconvenient barrier to searching vote history and if you do it in the current system you’d be recognized as petty at least. Easing access is not going to make Lemmy better.
I just say it in my head to myself. It has had a near 100% success rate for the past year. I don’t understand it, yet it works!
I feel like an adult almost all the time, but it got more common when I gave birth. I’m not a kid. I’m not a teenager. I’m not a college student. I’m a grown adult and everything I do all day taking care of others is adult stuff. Even the fun moments of playing a video game or looking at my phone hidden behind a book, or the hard stuff where I have no idea what to do. I don’t feel like a kid, I feel like an adult playing a fun game or an adult feeling confused and scared.
To me, being a kid meant feeling confident that everything was being taken care of for me. I don’t get the adults feeling like kids thing when things are confusing or hard. When I was a kid my parents dealt with the hard stuff, or at least helped me deal with it
As a teen I had little to no interest in penetration. Tampons didn’t feel good, so why would I assume something else would? I wasn’t really interested in penetration until I was interested in my partner specifically.
Once I (eventually) figured out pleasurable masturbation, I still stuck with external stuff mostly, and fingers in general. Eventually I got a job and a debit card and could privately online shop, but my little bag of toys continues to go mostly unused. Nothing beats my fingers.
I don’t know about other women, but for me masturbation is and always has been much more about what’s going on in my head, and then adding the pleasurable sensations to that, rather than experimenting with different sensations.
For a beginner I literally cannot imagine a cucumber. How many dicks are as thick as a grocery store cucumber? None I’ve seen in real life. Maybe in porn, but I can’t think of any. It would just hurt. Beginners would need something maybe the size of 2 female fingers. (Maybe a farmers market cucumber that’s skinnier?)
Ugh I read this article a few days ago but it doesn’t tell you the names of the two pictured. Is her name Dana or not!? Is he Noam??
Yeah, I’m half surprised there isn’t “under consume” on the list and they stop letting people in who don’t spend enough money
They also think doing actual research causes long covid. Not worth the risk
I know someone personally that was outed by a YouTube channel. Guy was definitely in the wrong, I think he was 24 chatting up a “15” yo, maybe even “14”? The guy has a slew of mental health issues including schizophrenia. He definitely should be in trouble, and not allowed to use the Internet. My point is, it was really awful for his family when he was outed. Definitely real.
I used to hate Miley Cyrus’ music and her personality. Now I’m on board. I still don’t love her, but I don’t mind singing along when her music plays near me and I feel very neutral to even positive about her as a person. As far as child stars go she actually seems surprisingly normal and thoughtful.
