I’ve been using “emotional support vehicle” lately.

Can confirm. I had an account since 2012 but when I started flagging bots on there (and I got really good at it) over the last 3 years, I started getting frequently banned for really superficial stuff.

Last year, my account was finally permbanned because I said that Hans Kristian Graebner (aka Neo-Nazi Stonetoss) should be named and shamed. Reddit admins protect Nazis.

Their AI is absolutely dogshit, especially at detecting jokes or shitposts. I caught a 3 day ban on my last account, “advocating violence” for joking about mosquitoes getting cancer on a shitpost sub.

I like how bro just drops an all caps advertisement on here and then bails without answering any questions or tech issues with it. Great job buddy, this will definitely get everyone on board.

I mean I wasn’t going around accusing everyone of being a bot or thinking that I was right all the time. I did have a few false positives and owned up to it. But once you see the pattern of behavior (big gap on joined date vs first active date, only posting in karma farming subs or subs known to have high bot populations) and accounts literally keeping the “as a large language model…” Or “Okay, here’s a supportive Reddit-style comment with some minor spelling mistakes…” in some of their comments, ads at the end of their comments, and posting all hours of the day without any gaps for sleep or work, or posting fragments comments identical to ones posted months or years earlier by someone else, you start to realize maybe these accounts might not be genuine.

I have screenshots to prove it but if you really believe I don’t know what I’m talking about then there’s really nothing I can say to dissuade that.

I’d gotten really good at discerning a chatGPT bot from a human account just from years of catching bots on Reddit.

There’s a lot of red flags and tells that would be very hard to completely eradicate. There will always be an uncanny valley.

It really fucks with my head when I hear sonic rings come from a gas station cash register…

Avoiding Google is honestly the best choice to avoid AI. Duckduckgo has a toggle where you can switch off AI summaries and filter out most AI generated images in image search. I switched to DDG years ago and never looked back.

If they or their loved ones lose coverage, They’ll just blame the Democrats, or atheist transgender illegal aliens or something. They aren’t tethered by reality. They can just lay blame on a random boogeyman and sleep peacefully at night.
