  • I love hiking. I think you’ve got a decent start with what you’ve written already. I would advise getting familiar with navigating yourself with a map and compass, a lot of places don’t have phone signal so at a minimum download your map and make sure you’ve got the battery to last the trip and some extra. I definitely agree with your thoughts about carrying more water than you think you’ll need, generally water will be the heaviest thing will carry but one of the most important.

  • I can second all of these. Generation zero is the only one I didn’t enjoy much but I suspect it’s a lot better with friends.

The rest are fab, I’m currently playing Kena it’s like Pixar/ Disney meets dark souls. Beautiful game, has these little critters which follow you around called rot who are super cute and you can put hats on them.

Control is just excellent. The combat feels great and for me the whole game was worth playing just for the Ashtray maze sequence.

  • The Wii brought gaming to the general public in a way nothing else had. Like most modern Nintendo consoles it was under powered and gimmicky but the gimmick worked so well for people new to gaming, point at the TV or wiggle the controller as you would to do the thing in real life was a huge step to making an abstract concept make sense to people. For longer gaming sessions or more “serious” games the Wii controls were generally lacking but damn if Wii sports wasn’t good fun.

  • Yup, I make a conscious effort to look after myself more now since I burned out from work a while back. I cycle to and from work, journal regularly (I started with Mind Journal and follow that format), walk my dog (and having a dog in general is great for self care). I make time to spend with friends and try to be present in the moment and enjoy the little things. I also make sure I go home on time from work, take my holidays and don’t take on more than I can manage.

  • I always enjoy a good story in my games. I particularly enjoyed the walking dead games. I’ve also just done a few runs of slay the princess which is a visual novel game with amazing voice acting and a romance/ existential horror plot. Quite short unless you do multiple runs but I’d definitely recommend it on sale.
