I’m not familiar with TF2, why would it break other game economies?

I never stopped my COVID routine so I’m not really doing anything different to prepare but I am at least a little prepared. Going to buy one of those emergency 5-gallon buckets of dehydrated food this time around though, like next time I’m at a bulk food not as shit hits the fan.
I haven’t put much thought into if it is overblown because realistically I’d prefer to see a big fuss over nothing than to see people sit back with a beer while their neighbors die. So I’m not going to treat it like we’re overreacting I’m going to be pretty serious about things.
Ah taking notes from how Unity fired people. Slow and steady to ensure morale is as ruined as possible
Yeah you got to be real careful you don’t zero sum yourself, much better to chim if you can
I’ve been awake maybe 20 minutes and I think I’m done with the Internet for the day
As if tech isn’t enough of a hyper specialized mess already now we’re throwing biologists into the mix. “Sorry we need to wait for the registered nurse to fix your machine I’m not authorized to administer meds through the CPU’s IV”
The original XCOM has some of the best pixel art in any game, imo. Original resolution: 320x200. Somehow it is still visually detailed and clear. It has one of my favorite things in a game ever where the tiles you see are partially obscured by tiles you can’t. Specifically, the tiles you can’t see aren’t fully blocked so silhouettes can still be visible. If you’re good you can use it to ID aliens lurking in the shadows and sometimes it’s literally like 3 pixels of difference for you to pick up on it
This is fuckin awesome I love it
Anyone reading this who doesn’t already have one: Seriously get a bidet you guys
That’s why I mentioned it needs processed. Didn’t know the word precursors but yeah we’re talking the same thing
Isn’t estradiol made from yams? Like you can’t just eat plants for their hormones even if you physically could eat enough the hormones still need processed to be noticably effective on humans, but plants are still a viable source
Yeah only reason I’m still there is I can’t let my insurance get disrupted right now. Couple more months though then I’m going to start looking around. I don’t trust them at all anymore and I’ve pretty well checked out of that job
Hottest I’ve ever been in is 114f iirc in a dry heat. It was brutal like “you can feel moisture evaporating out of your eyes”, I felt like just sitting around I couldn’t drink water as fast as I was losing it. 125 is bonkers
What happened at my work was they did like 2 mini layoffs, then a medium one, then a big one that was split into 3 parts, all this over the course of about two years. Morale here is more or less in free fall, we’ve alienated our user base, and I don’t expect it to recover for many years.
I’m loving the mutated statues in the background
Hey this has been happening at my work! It definitely isn’t a complete dumpster fire over here now, that knowledge and experience from those hundreds of people wasn’t critical or anything, the people who are left are totally working well and not just scraping by under constant fear of being fired next, it’s fine
While I agree, and am in Washington now in part because of stuff like this, we need to do better about keeping these people subdued or it won’t be much better here. The college towns bordering Idaho/Washington are in the middle of a very successful christo-fascist takeover with plans to foothold into Washington. Spokane has been toying with nationalism and white supremacy for ages. There are a lot of very red rural farmland and small towns who are angry at Seattle for having such an influence on them.
I still feel safer here and most areas of Washington than I have living in other places. We need to work hard to keep it that way because fascism doesn’t stop at state lines
MOO2 is still one of, if not the, best 4x space games and part of that is how clear cut it is. The systems play together well and it isn’t a bloated mess of complicated mechanics for the sake of being complicated. The depth is very emergent and not artificial feeling which gives it an incredible timelessness
This makes sense, thank you
