Oh I’m sure it’d be quite hard. But that’s a future engineer’s problem lol
This is the first step to having magnetic wheels become a thing. We know canonically Jim Kirk’s motorcycle uses these, so it’s definitely mainstream by ~2250.
Honorable mention: the Bell Riots happen September this year, and it seems we’re on track for those too
It was over 410:1 when I started a job in 2012. My company may have been an outlier :/ I hope it improves
FML you’re right :( just saw this pop up in a news feed. Party of law and order at work
My favorite part about the aftermath of this is that Convicted Felon Trump won’t be able to vote for himself in the election 🥰
You’re totally right. For some reason I (mis)remembered it only being in the EU while the US was excluded. I found the form on Nintendo’s website and will look into that later.
That’s fair. It’s the double-edged sword of internet stardom. To me it’s about remembering a simpler time then the world was less of a mess than it is today.
I post a reminder in a group chat with my friends every year. Someone today asked how the hell I remember it and I told them it’s in my calendar
The real Phantom Menace
Unfortunately, that’s not available in the US :(
It sure would be a shame if you bought new, identical Joy-Con controllers, found they didn’t have drift, and returned the old drifty ones by accident.
5/28 Ninja Edit: today I learned is a form on Nintendo’s website where you can fill out a repair request form. I thought the US had been excluded https://repair.nintendo.com/cc/soConsumer.html?lang=en&sys=SWTCH&type=JOY-CON
Do you know why we can’t see any elephants hiding in trees?
Because they’re really good at it
… I’ll see myself out
The outward facing part from how it grows, not where the stem is. Used to think that was the bottom, but it’s the top. Just pinch it and it opens easier every time.
Oh! I can’t believe I forgot Strange New Worlds. It’s a very good show and scratches the episodic exploration itch of older Treks
The Next Generation (TNG) is a great start.
My journey was TNG, Deep Space 9 (DS9), Voyager, The Original Series (TOS), the animated series, Enterprise, Discovery. Movies as you see fit
Each series is very different and has character of their own. TNG is largely unconnected episodes with a 2-parter bridging the seasons. DSN starts pretty unconnected, but gets into a overarching plot at the end. Voyager follows a main theme, but has some unconnected episodes. TOS is episodic and doesn’t have much follow up between episodes. Discovery is the latest and the most singular plot of the Star Treks (ie don’t skip episodes in it).
Note also that the term for a show to “grow a beard” came from TNG. The first season was kind of slow with some very meh episodes. Riker physically grew a beard in the second season and the show got a lot better (unrelated coincidence, but a funny connection).
One other thing is that even though I recommend TNG, remember it came out in the late 80’s. Some parts of it are slower and feel dragged out. The television show runtimes were longer back then.
Notable mentions are Galaxy Quest and Lower Decks. Both are funny on their own, but will 100% be rib-crushing hilarious only after you’ve watched a lot of Trek.
It’s a deterrent because it’s an escalation from theft to manslaughter. And people are afraid of it explicitly because it’s only a tool used to kill
To preface, I understand it’s part of the US Constitution so I know it’ll never go away completely.
I’m not a fan of citizens being able to own a tool whose sole purpose is to kill. It’s marketed as defense, but the underlying reason is because a gun is a tool with the power to kill. Guns have become so small and portable that an individual can conceal one and can end people’s lives at will. I’m not comfortable with that power going unchecked.
I also believe 2A’s original intent is not feasible today. A small group of people with muskets cannot overthrow an oppressive state or local government.
I understand the sub this is in, but just wanted to offer my sincere 2¢
3D TV. It was so cool. Games actually had heads up displays. Movies were especially immersive. So much potential for development. But people didn’t like wearing glasses to use it :(
Mmm. Lost a planet, Master Stamets has. How embarrassing. How embarrassing. Find it, we will try
