So, I’ve heard about XManager for a little while and just finally decided to try it, and…

So just level with me, is this thing an advertising scam? When I tap on a version and choose download, an ad appears, I wait for it’s timer to finish, close it and… Nothing happens. It never downloads anything, just serves ad after ad.

Edit: So, after disabling ads and trying again several more times, I was able to download and install.

It’s correct. I opened mine and tried to download something random and got your same error. Can confirm it’s not supposed to be like this.

It’s always infuriating that the git repo is full of documentation but I cannot find an answer to the question: What Is It Exactly?

It’s an app to patch the spotify app, so you have all the premium features. It’s not illegal per se, but still, they don’t want to grab too much attention.

It is kinda illegal. It’s copyright infringement

The illegal part is downloading the copyrighted Spotify apk

But xmanager is not providing the apk, so the project doesn’t do anything illegal.

Also if you root your phone (not illegal for some devices) you can install any app from the store and the apk is just there… on your device, which you can then patch.

Yes that’s completely legal. It’s just illegal to download it from somewhere else. You don’t even need root to get the APK.

If you mean what is Xmanager, it’s an app for downloading patched versions of the Spotify app to have premium features.

You can go to settings to disable adverts, I had system wide adblocking so never encountered any ad but it can be disable from settings. Also it is working on my end

It’s not a scam. It just has issues compiling the APK on certain phones, like Xiaomi. They have a Telegram group to download precompiled APKs without the need for xManager.

Xmanager doesn’t compile the apk. I downloads the same files you have on telegram.

The main advantage of it over manually downloading the files is somewhat easier usage and update notifications.
