This better quality footage explains a few things to me about why the tank acted like it did. I couldn’t tell from the original footage that the front of the tank was what was getting its shit rocked by the autocannon fire. I doubt they had a single unbroken optic on that entire tank. So the driver was likely driving totally blind at the end.
Second, we saw that big bright explosion and it wasn’t apparent what it was. I’m guessing it was a high explosive tank shell exploding in the barrel of the tank after the barrel was damaged or the Bradley pieced the barrel and the shell blew up inside the breech.
Beautiful.
That’s one of Russia’s more modern tanks.
Bradley’s aren’t even made for fighting tanks.
We shouldn’t be too surprised. Bradleys scored kills against T-72s in the Persian Gulf. Though having a “modern” tank like a T-90 get shitmixed that hard is pretty embarrassing.
If I remember some Bradley’s are equipped with anti-tank missiles. So I mean it’s not really surprising that it could, like kill a tank.
Is that some sort of machine gun with glowing rounds?
Yes, it’s a 25mm autocannon with tracer rounds.
Ah, I was thinking that 3 rounds/second was quite slow for a machine gun
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M242_Bushmaster Might just be 3/sec but high explosive Listed as 200rpm which is roughly that in one config. Effective range at almost 2 miles. Wowzers
God damn…
What’s the typical ratio of regular rounds to tracers?
Those are probably all high-explosive tracer rounds.
Very fast Cheetos
