You could just link to the original instead of giving traffic to r*ddit.

DeviantArt is cumbersome to link to, I tried earlier and it doesn’t display the picture properly

Hmmm, right, you can choose from 2 shitty websites. Deviantart links used to work some time ago, now I tried it and they stopped working. You can’t open images on reddit as well, because it redirect you to that awful image viewer.

I recommend to download these things and upload them somewhere else, from where you can share them. I use imgur for this, but some users doesn’t like that site as well, because apparently it blocks some VPNs. From a site like that you can link images directly, and you can add some caption where you can write the name of the original creator, and add a link to the source.

I think it’s not a problem if you download a publicly available image and upload it somewhere else if you a give proper credits to the creator. Basically that happened when someone uploaded this to r*ddit.

Other notable image hosting services they recommend instead of imgur, from this thread: https://lemm.ee/post/1015755

Consider this: It gives Reddit traffic, but there’s no way this kind of thing generates any income for them.
