I recently checked back on the PiratedGames subreddit after long while not being there. And I wonder what other people here think but in my opinion, the quality of the subreddit has gone downhill.
Most posts from what I see are now ‘’meme’s’’, ‘‘I justify pirate because…’’ and ‘’This is my collection!’’. Pretty much just hurr-durr look and upvote me kind of content.
Actual content to help with problems, discussions (besides, I justify it because) are not there.
I know this is kind of an ironic because, this post isn’t necessarily a helpful thing either. So apologies for that.
Also what is the smartest thing to do, follow the megathread here, there or both?
The more I check Reddit, the more glad I’m that the original Moderator of PiratedGames went to Lemmy.
A lot of the reddit power users have moved. What’s left is now is bots (re)posting the jankiest content and lurkers with too much inertia to move.
I find it funny any time I check Reddit and see the people complaining in the comments. ‘Whats going on with Reddit lately?’, ‘Why are there so many bots and so much spam as of late?’.
Memories of gerbils I swear, we fuckin’ told you this was gonna happen. How are these simpletons surprised?! (I know I answered my own question there lol).
That’s an insult to gerbils…
Fair!
and mods deleting anything new there
Not really, the only subreddit that I can say this apply to is r/piracy a lot of the big subreddits are still stuck on reddit.
The Megathreads of both Piracy communities are 100% fully synchronized, allowing you to select and utilize the one that suits your preference. 👊🏻 I am unable to speak on behalf of the PiratedGames Megathread as it is not under our care.
go where you feel most welcome/appreciated. for me besides the occasional tankie, that place is lemmy.

/r/piracy wasn’t much different in that regard when I unsubbed from it, long before leaving reddit last summer. It happens anytime there’s a large enough userbase, as that sort of content is easier to create and consume, the latter making it more likely to get voted up.
Yeah, 9 out 10 hot posts of the day were tired/overused memes.
i would ban memes at the instance level in a totalitarian sense
Aren’t the megathreads synced?
Ohh, I didn’t know that. If that’s the case, that’s awesome.
I were about to loose my mind if no one shared the same opinion at this point
the more glad I’m that the original Moderator of PiratedGames went to Lemmy
Is it so? I thought it is the same mod team there from before the protest/migration.
