    Some of these are decent, but if they really say “go fuck yourselves” to their first gen users who paid ~double what an equivalent Apple Watch costs then everyone should really think twice about buying a gen 2.

    It’s a basic watch app, there is zero excuse for not providing them to atleast all their direct customers, although it would be quite frankly much better for the ecosystem if they provided them to all Wear OS users.

        Yeah seriously. The only reason i bought a PW is because I don’t have a Samsung phone which was needed for some of the GW features like SPO2. I’m still not a fan of the size of the Pixel Watch but decided to give it a try. Having all of the stats locked behind a subscription is terrible.

          Yeah then with a Samsung watch or the apple watch you need the respective phone to get all the features that are built into the watch… so stupid

    The original Pixel Watch faces are like, boringly good. They put so much effort into the design of the Utility watch face that it pretty much outshines anything else preinstalled to the point that I end up getting decision fatigue trying to pick anything else out.

    Still don’t really care about the new watch faces though given half of them are just analog clocks, and the other half is just the time, but really big.

    Eh, I really dislike the Android 14+ skin. I was hoping it wouldn’t stick around but looks like it’s here to stay for now.

        How can I switch it out? I use Nova launcher so can change some stuff, but things like the notification bar and lock screen are an abomination. I wish I’d never updated my phone.

              You really can’t unfortunately unless you use phones with a more customized UI like Samsung and Xiaomi. The only stock UI that changes the notifications is Asus

              But with android 14 we should get ways to customize our lock screen on pixel devices.

    @Welp_im_damned

    > (it currently appears that they will remain exclusive to the second-gen watch)

    All in a classic Google fashion to ignore original Pixel Watch buyers with software that could definitely run on it. Especially given the new watch face format with Wear OS 4.

    The watches themselves are already ugly as hell though. The Samsung ones look better but from what I heard have massive software issues and require a Samsung phone to make use of all the features. Can’t really say I see anything really alluring on the smartwatch market at the moment.
