I’ve put together a collage of some books from last months What are you Reading? post. It’s mostly random, but the more discussion something gets the more it stands out to me. Going forward I’m going to make a new post every month to talk about what people are reading.

Here is last months post. What are you Reading? (July 2023)

At any rate, what are you currently reading or plan to read in August?

Point to a sci Fi writer and you can find a flaw in pretty literally all of them it’s kind of dumb to point fingers like that.

Yes because Asimov an actual factual sexual assaulter is much better. Heinlein and Rand are contemporaries the assertion one is making commentaries on the other is quizzical at best.

When did I mention Asimov? And on Ayn Rand, I meant that she and Heinlein had similar shitty right-Libertarian takes sometimes.

The port has Asimov, bringing up heinleins weirdness in the sea of scifi weirdness is fuckin weird dude. There are so incredibly few sci-fi writers that don’t get into weird shit.

Heinlein and Rand are wildly dissimilar people and moreover writers.

He’s a bit of a nutcase, but one can’t deny the impact Starship Troopers has had on military SF as a whole, so its worth a read if not just for that!
