This made me think of an interview with Richard Wolff and Lex Fridman. Richard tries to explain his views on Marxism and Communism, #295. He mentions problems with academia, and how it is tied to the corporate world. Around 1:41:00, gov’t/academics/corporations are all tied together in keeping the same system going. To try and get back to topic, it may have to do with the kind of people needed to excel in competitive areas like a university/company/government. Less on taking care of people and more on competing with each other to be the best… Reminds me of sports and the fierce environment it produces. Some people adapt and become like them or they feel isolated.
