Why would a woman’s group hand her over to the men?
That is a question for the Meira Paibis to answer. Meira Paibis are composed of Meitei women. Meitei are an ethnic group and mostly Hindu. Kukis are an ethnic tribe and almost all Christian.
Since the start of this ethnic & communal violence, Meira Paibis have been encouraging Meitei youth to rape & kill Kuki girls & women.

rape is a crime, so is gangrape. But rapists get bail and the political power currently in power, the BJP, will publicly honour them if the victims are non-Hindu. and their leader gets welcomed and honored by world leaders as leader of world’s largest democracy.

A fuck up of unseen proportions. Near biggest population on earth, all brought up on regressive, sex-negative, sex-repressive environments that tend to blame victims and just close their eyes to any policy level actions that might ameliorate the situation.
What a powerhouse the country was in ancient times; how far it has fallen. Really sad to think about.

The news coming out of Manipur (by drips as the internet is still shutdown) is shocking. 2 days back a popular Meitei singer released a new song calling for a Kuki genocide with lyrics like “once the army relaxes their grip, the Kukis will be eliminated” and “We will never have peace till every Kuki is killed”. the state police & govt haven’t taken any action against him.
Today is the 82nd day of violence and the central govt led by Prime Minister Modi has neither addressed the ethnic & communal genocide nor has he asked the state govt led by Biren Singh (both belong to the same Hindu supremacist political party, the BJP) to step down.
They want the violence to continue.
