Today I had the pleasure of working with @Illecors@lemmy.cafe to set up midwest.social’s email properly. HUGE shout out to them! Gmail and other emails should now work with this instance’s email notifications instead of bouncing.
Update: a small issue has been found with the email server that’s causing some of the emails to not get delivered. Will take a couple of hours to be fixed. Hang tight.
2nd update: issue has been resolved.
how do i send email? is it @ midwest.social addy?l might have a use, thanks. used to config same on linux 10 years ago. got a shell home dir? /home/ met00 maybe. low bandwidth mastoID type text/html - git is so clicky

You can’t send email from here per se, just that you can sign up for email notifications for when you get a reply or mention. The old system was really janky.

mp3s should be easier to send. I’ve always thought I should be able to text a voicemail bypassing the ring.ring answer machine. android has a recorder app you can make them and send. needs integration into messages. google never gets transcripts right
