On the one hand, it’s really fun to be able to stream 60gb 4k content through stremio/plex debrid, but on the other hand, if i choose to end my subscription, I don’t have anything to show for the money I spent till that time.
For me, I do a mix of both. If I know I’m going to watch something multiple times, or want to save it for later I’ll download it, if it’s just a show that I’m casually watching in the background, or I’m using my phone/tablet to kill time I’ll stream it. Also my internet isn’t amazing (starlink) so if I’m downloading an Xbox update or something I can’t always stream 4K content without it buffering, so a lot of time I’ll go ahead and download something beforehand.
I like the fact that all options are equally easy.
Also, the cost of 6 months of RD is roughly equal to the price of a “value meal” at a fast food restaurant these days. Do you really feel bad about not having something to show for when you’re getting 6 months of all the shows you can stream for basically nothing? Especially when you have the option of downloading everything if you want. The entitlement there is a bit much.
I don’t have anything to show for when I use my Netflix subscription, and using RD has all the good shows from there along with every other platform for wayyyyyy cheaper.
I’m not paying to keep the content, I’m paying for the sheer convenience of being able to watch pretty much anything almost instantly.
I use RD with Jdownloader2 to get premium dl speeds, as it removes the worries of a dl hanging due to some premium bs
(Also I noticed https://qiwi.gg/ getting more popular, fast speeds, no limits it seems. Anyone have something to say about it?)
jdownloader isnt necessary for RD. even if you download from a browser it should still go full speed
True, I prefer having a dedicated download manager, also it’s got a remote web interface so I can have the download on my server
must be nice. i cant really automate much since i only get fast internet at public places
Where did you download JDownloader2 from? I tried to install that one real debrid recommends (the supposedly clean one) and my antivirus identified it as a threat and virustotal found 18 threats.

I pay for a seedbox and get torrents from a private site. Then I transfer from the seedbox to my home NAS server with many terabytes of storage. I like having my own copy of files which I have total control over.
How well does plex debrid work? Been meaning to install it for a while.
Curious about this as well.
