    Lillium longiflorum, L.tigrinum and a few other lillium are an ancient Chinese foraging food still eaten today. You can find dried Lillium flower and bulb scales in Asian markets everywhere.

      Haha even in Wikipedia it says it’s sometimes called the Bermuda Lily cause we go wild with those in Easter season… But as far as I know nobody eats them here lol

        Most people outside of China have no idea. Another great one from China is the daylilly (hemerocalus) which the flower is eaten after cooking but more commonly dried and reconstituted then cooked. .

        Daylilly shoots and root bulblets can also be eaten cooked but should be reserved for more of an emergency food as they contain a mild toxin that can build up on the body.
