It refers to the more insidious subconscious racist tendencies, those which I do fall prey to and have to actively unlearn the same as anyone else. We have zero evidence what he looked like. The region was extremely ethnicly diverse. He could have looked like anything really, from pasty blond/red haired white guy to dark skinned. Most likely just similar to your average people in the region today.

It’s a fair guess, at least, that Moses’ hairstyle would have links with contemporary Egyptian culture, given where and how he grew up.
