Chelsea Langlois told Global News she had to move her family of four out of their rental home in Langford when she was notified it would be torn down for development.
We have the same here in BC. That happened to my wife’s cousin. Landlord said family was moving in. She found out it was bullshit. He rented it out for more money. She went to the tenancy board and file a complaint. She got a court hearing, the landlord never showed and she was awarded $25,000 plus court fees.

Did the landlord pay though ?
You would expect they’d be in a world of hurt if they ignored a court order.
Just because you win a case doesn’t mean the other party well pay. You have to go after them if they don’t and it can be a hassle.
Yeah he paid.
