Having no one here to talk about the episode with tempted me to return to Reddit for the first time since June!
I thought todays episode was awesome. Fantastic duel content. Baylin seeming genuinely frustrated that Ahsoka defaults to violence was interesting. He may be one of the most exciting characters we’ve been given in the Disney era
Man is a fucking refrigerator of a knight and moves like a brick shit house while also dropping some mad persuasion skills lol
Rest in peace to his actor. He was doing phenomenal work with the character.
My problems with the fight scene is that in her other shows Ahsoka was much more acrobatic in her fights. She relied on a lot of movement that’s easier to animate than act out.
That’s something I just have to get over, but i miss OG Ahsoka
I definitely agree. Practically it’s likely due to the limitations moving from animation to live action. But my headcanon is just that she’s a bit older and that’s visible in her style.
Hopefully the next episode will have different directions in regards to the acting. Ahsoka should be portrayed as more vulnerable around Anakin, despite her years of development and maturity imho.
I think they’re building to this, as she was put off at the mention of Anakin in the last fight scene.
In regards to the fight scenes, I do miss the old Ahsoka acrobatics, but the show deals with this well by directing them to be more samurai inspired, literally playing more towards Ahsoka as a kind of sci fi Musashi. Metered and slower pace fight sequences were nicely juxtaposed with the more rough and tumble style of the respective padawans.
If we can get an episode thread posted before the episode airs, I’ll gladly start sharing my thoughts after watching. On Reddit I generally lurked but I’ll contribute here if the thread is present. Just don’t want to start a thread and then see there are multiple competing threads. Maybe we can get the mods to make one each week?
Your comment is how I learned that Ray Stevenson died. That makes me really sad, not only because he died, but I also think it was a fantastic character I would loved to see more about.
Agreed! I was thinking while watching this episode that this is some of the best live action lightsaber action and form since Phantom Menace. Ray Stevenson was doing great work with the Baylon character. It will be too bad if it is ultimately short lived due to the actor’s passing.
We gotta get this community engaging more guys.

She’s older and matured. She’s realized function over fashion is good too
Shes also fighting singular strong opponents over groups.
She’s spent years hiding her force powers to avoid discovery.

I love that Baylan and Ahsoka were doing the “chess” of combat styles. Lots of evaluating stances and consideration before each burst of dueling.
Same here. I’ll finish the episode and the discussion thread isn’t even posted here yet. It’s the only time I go to Reddit now.

I second this idea
