Yeah, ChromeOS is a linux distro that boots chrome and is now being officially split into Lacros (Linux and ChromeOS), but honestly, we should be able to make a “distro” that just starts a DE with firefox or chromium as the main window. Extensions could be written that present the filesystem in firefox or chromium and most users would be none the wiser.
Call it WebOS or something.
Does something like that already exist?
ChromiumOS exists but must be built
Unless you really need/want browser only, you might get away with any “lightweight” distro depending on the specs of the machine.
I assume you’re trying to install on something like a Chromebook. This might get you in the right direction. https://www.linuxfordevices.com/tutorials/linux/best-linux-distros-for-chromebook
It would have a lot more functionality too.
Ubuntu web remix , Peppermint and risi os are examples
Call it WebOS or something.
Kind of off topic, but webOS was in fact a thing, but more of mobile OS alternative to android and iOS, first developed by palm, the bought by HP, then sold to LG.

It had a small but active homebrew community, with the HP touchpad being one of the early tablets on the market with an unlocked bootloader and Linux support.
TIL
No but you can easily make it. Install Arch (which I use, by the way), set it up to launch a lightweight window manager and set that up to autostart Firefox in full screen mode.
Looks like you can just install Linux on them? Wouldn’t that be better?
If it’s a company laptop, I dunno. Probably
