I’ve used this specific nick for 20 something
years, it’s a variation on my original nick “Lingo”. The “h0e” part was from #bluelight, back when bluelight had an IRC server. One random day those of us in the channel dubbed ourselves the chat hoes. Being the l33t kids we were, it quickly became ch4th0e. We started referring to each other by adding “h0e” onto our existing nicks. I became lingh0e.
That was over two decades ago. I was an aggressive asshole when I first started using it. I keep it because I like to remind myself that I’m a better, nicer person now… but that cynical asshole is still a part of me.
